About
Hapuna Golf Course stretches along the beautiful Kohala coastline before rising to over 700 feet above sea level. The snow-topped Mauna Kea volcano serves as a dramatic backdrop and there are seemingly endless views of the Pacific. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay collaborated to create a visually stunning links course that utilizes the natural contours of the landscape and silky fescue grasses. The design team has received praise for not only the challenge of the design but also for how seamlessly it blends into the existing environment. Palmer incorporated several risk-reward opportunities, especially with the par 5s, the14th is a good example. There are many ways to play this hole, which features a large ravine on the right and a wide, but shallow green. Long hitters can reach the green in two but short hitters prefer two shots and a par 3.

Perfect afternoon
We teed off at 2:30 and flew through the course finishing in just over 3 hours. The staff was friendly, the conditions were great, the layout was awesome, and the views were incredible! I’d recommend playing Hapuna to anyone visiting the big island!
Hapuna Delivers
Great track! The course offers challenge to all levels of golfers. The greens were in very good shape and were fast in comparison to its neighboring course which are very slow. The course was in good shape and I would happy to play there again many times.
Beautiful course
Unfortunately the winds blew from the East at about 40 mph. Standing upright was an achievement.
Fun golf course
Had a great time with a good rate at Hapuna. I loved the layout and can’t wait to play again as I didn’t always know where I was going. I played as a single and 4 foursomes let me play through so round was less than 3 hours! A definite must if you are staying on Kona side.
I thought it would be better
No gps on carts.No ball washers. Had to call for beverage cart. No place to have a sandwich or drink when your done.
Great course!
This is a challenging (but not too challenging) course that has a beautiful layout with beautiful views! I booked this on GolfNow and got the above rate for teeing off at 2:30 and for using GolfNow rewards. They want the carts in by 6, so there's a risk of not being able to finish your round, though we had this tee time twice and were able to finish the round both times. Lots of fun!

A must play!
Most Hawaii courses are above average in green fees. Hapuna is worth it! You can get great deals for afternoon tee times.
Course was in great shape when I played it, and the greens were even better. If you haven't played here it's worth adding to your visit!

We truly enjoyed our day at your course!! The weather was great, alittle cloudy with nice breeze.
