Ka'anapali Kai

About
The Ka'anapali Resort on Maui is home to two championship golf courses, set on 1,200 acres of land home to ancient Hawaiian royalty. The Ka'anapali Kai course is an Arthur Jack Snyder design from 1976 that received an extensive renovation in 2005. The golf course is shorter and has a lower slope/rating compared to its sister Royal Ka'anapali course, but also plays narrower in most spots. Many holes are tucked into the West Maui Mountains The golf course is women-friendly with a forward set of "Hibiscus" tees at 4,522 yards, and also less expensive to resort guests and visitors compared to Royal Ka'anapali, which has played host to numerous professional events.

Fun Time at Kaanapali Kia
This course was fantastic. Great views of the Pacific Ocean from the 14 holes up the mountain on the other side of the highway. A bit windy at times but that added to the experience. I didn’t care for holes 1, 16, 17, and 18 that were on flat land amongst the resort. Rough was a bit of a challenge. I can’t imagine the Royal Kaanapali course that is $225 to play verses $125 for the Kai course being any better, especially from the scenic view standpoint. I highly recommend playing the Kaanapali Kai course on Maui.
Run of the mill course
Not much of a layout. Course is in decent shape except the traps which were like rocky mud pits. I played it as i was staying in the area and got the reduced rate. Don't expect too much if you decide to play it.
A great course to play in Maui
The Kaanapali Kai course was a great place to play a round of golf in Maui.
Best golf in Maui
The course was in great shape, surrounded by beautiful homes and gardens. Gorgeous mountains and ocean views. Well maintained and I love the Tee Off discount rates!!! Thank you.
Good Time!
Notwithstanding the lack of beverage services and accessible rest rooms on course I thoroughly enjoyed my 2nd outing this week on Kai. Outstanding service from the gentlemen before and after the round. Super friendly folks.
Nice island course
I always enjoy playing here. The course is well maintained and the pace of play was excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A food cart comes around frequently if needed. The views of Maui are great.
Great course
Easy driving course, greens rolling well, all holes interesting. Remember putts break toward the ocean, even though at times it defies physics.
Very good day
Played at 10:45 and fortunately not a lot of wind.
Course was in very good condition and the pace of play was excellent. From what I played and looked at this was the best price I could find. The staff is very nice and look forward to playing again next time I can…
Kai was great
I really enjoyed Kai, a little tighter than the Royal but the greens and traps were in better shape. I played Royal the day before. No complaints but then I played better on the Kai
Maui golf
