Kahili Golf Course
About
Kahili Golf Course is positioned on the slopes of the West Maui Mountains, offering picturesque views of the regal Haleakala and the Pacific Ocean.
The world-class layout is a popular stop for visiting and local, amateur and tournament golfers alike. The par-72, 6,554-yard course, constructed in 1991, was designed by Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright.
Elevation changes are the norm at Kahili, with par 3s on the back side laying up and downhill to small greens. A lake and a dry creek bed are in play on the front side, making accuracy a necessity. And the par 5s are short enough to give long hitters a chance at birdies and eagles.
Kahili features beautiful practice facilities with a driving range and putting and chipping greens. Golfers can relax after a round at Kahili Restaurant, which offers good food at value prices. Also, for golfers with larger party needs, the Nahele Banquet Room is the ideal location for weddings, reunions, business meetings and seminars.

Great shape
Staff very good very understanding ground crew when workin near your shot. well groomed course
Greens smooth fast and true
Enjoyable, challenging, windy, beautiful views and affordable.
The staff are incredible at making you feel welcome. The course is well designed and the layout offers a challenge to all levels of golfers so choose your tee box based on your desire for difficulty. The sand traps can be tough as many golfers do not rake them properly after they leave them and some bad lies can be had. The wind is a constant so enjoy it and try to adapt. I have played it 4 times so far and will play it plenty more as it is such good value for your money!
greens are perfect!
Excellent course/great value. Not difficult to play even from the blue tee boxes but the WIND will play havoc with all shots!
Be prepared for a lot of wind as the course is below a mountain and very exposed
This course is great value for your dollar. I paid $59 + taxes for golf and cart . The course is in good condition except the fairways and rough can be firm and dry is some places. The greens are very receptive. The pro shop staff are very friendly and helpful. I was picked up at my car and also given a return ride. The starter, Diane, was very friendly and accommodating. The scenery and views are fantastic. The negative.....wind, wind and more wind. This is the second time I have played the course in the past year and both times I had to play into a two to three club wind which is not enjoyable. Because of the wind factor I don't think I will rush out to play the course immediately. I understand that the high winds are normal for the course...darn Mother Nature.
This is an excellent public golf course at very reasonable rate.
The starter was very friendly. She made us felt welcomed. The condition of the course was outstanding. There were a few holes with breath-taking view. The green fee was very reasonable. I will recommend this to anyone. The course lay out was fair. This is a fun course to play.
fair but tough, the wind increases the difficuly
excellent staff, the greens were in excellent shape, the layout was interesting, but the toughest part of the day was negotiating the winds.
Great views and challenge for all levels.
Lots of interesting holes, elevation changes, well bunkered, not too tight ,but tough skecond shot course. Wind is always a factor as the tradesk blow thru the course regularly.
Very nice with great views
I was warned it would be super windy, but on the day I played it was not which made the course a lot easier than it would be on a normal day. Excellent value, though. Well maintained.
I like this course
I wish the selections above had more variation than just 3 positions. This is a scale of 1 - 3.. I would like at least 5. ie. The staff was friendly. Maybe Super Friendly, but not cordial. The course was in good shape. The bunkers need a little filling in.
Good Value, Great Views
Played early morning. fast pace. Beautiful Ocean views. Hillside location. small undulating greens. A good test in the wind.
VIEWS, BLIND SHOTS, CLUB SELECTION
This course can be very difficult if the winds are blowing... the greens are large enough, raised, and have contours....great views, friendly staff, and a good restaurant for after the round. The par 3's are difficult in windy conditions...plenty of variety with the layout of the holes... doglegs, elevevation changes
A fair test of golf without being over demanding
Excellent reception from all staff. Carts with GPS.
Play moved easily with 4 hours a comfortable time.
Beautiful views of mountains and ocean.
All public facilities well maintained
Great golf course
This golf course is well maintained, the staff is very friendly and the golf course is excellent.
Fun course.
Grrens were plugged the week before we played, but were rebounding well. Expect to play in the wind, 10-30 mph, even in the morning.
beautiful course
beautiful grounds, spectacular views, like most hawaii courses, excellent pricing especially through Golfnow.com, go early to avoid the wind.
Good course great views
I have played the course once before and this time played with a friend from Australia. Both times the course has been in good condition and the staff have been very friendly. Views are awesome and being on the foothills of the west mountains can occasionally get windy. I will be back.
Course was in good shape. Greens had been punched a few weeks earlier and should be in excellent condition.
Fun golf course to play. On the side of the hill with lots of tricky putts. Staff was very friendly and courteous.
Excellent value for $59
Very nice grounds with a luxurious Pro shop and clubhouse (shared by the adjacent members only golf club).
The staff was extremely friendly from the reception to the end of the day. The course is immaculate and offers some great views of the mountain and in some cases the ocean. The carts (included in the $59 price) are equipped with a GPS system than helps a lot when you're playing a course for the first time. My wife and I played in less than 3-1/2 hours. We were the last golfers to tee-off at 2:45pm.
We would go back for sure...
Costs lots less than resort courses.
We have played at Kahili 4 times . Always play there at least once on each visit to Hawaii. It costs a lot less to play there than at the resort courses but it is just as good.
Great Course, not resort golf.
Sideways blowing winds. Awesome challenge, great value!
