Tamarack Golf Club
About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

This I just one of the holes I believe 17 Photo submitted by fid12602 on 09/18/2013
Always a challenge.
The course is in pretty good shape and holding its own due to all the rain there has been lately. Person in the pro shop was not very hospitable. The course is always a challenge as most fairways are crowned or slope towards hazards.
Sadly, it was disappointing
At first glance, the course holds promise: Bunkers, water hazards, and shapely fairways and greens make for some pleasing-looking holes. But as you make your way, you realize the fairways are riddled with weeds, the greens are bumpy from last year's aeration, and the winding creeks are more bothersome and pesky -- than proper penalty for a bad shot. I actually shot a good score on the front, just one over, with a ball in some impossible-to-see water. And yet, I didn't love it. Next time, I'd look for a Hot Deal.
Like a beach
Tough course, sand to the left and water to the right on most holes. Course was in good shape and well kept. Tough but fun course.
As usual course in good condition and well maintained.
Only thing bad I can say, is whomever picked pin placement yesterday must've had a bad morning. Every pin, save I think 3 were on the side of a crown. Somewhat unnecessary for an already challenging track.
Needs help
This place is in terrible condition. Ant hills in the greens. The rough and fairways are all over the place either thick or dry or dead and some pins were 1 or 2 paces from being off the greens.
Overrated course
I'm not a fan of a course that takes the driver out of play as much as this one does. The sloping of the fairways turns good shots into water balls on several holes. This course is designed to penalize good shots as well as bad. There isn't a good bounce on the entire course. After all of the rain we have had the past couple of months i couldn't believe how dry the course was. Much of the grass was brown and the ground was rock hard in places. If I hadn't gotten a hot deal for $17 I wouldn't have bothered with this course. I won't be back.
Great course especially for the value
Lots of water, but fair. Greens were fast, well maintained course. Play time was a little slow, but otherwise a good day for golfing.
Restrooms
The course could use a few more pot-a-johns throughout the front 9 and back 9. Other than that, it is a nice course with beautiful homes surrounding it.
Splish splash
Great course for golfers who don't stray far from the fairway. ALOT of water hazards, nearly every hole
Challenging
Being retired I look for course that are fun to play but also affordable. I paid 29 dollars for cart and 18 holes. At this rate I would play this course more often. With my modest retirement check I can afford to play once a week. At this rate I would be able to play more often.
Shame on Tamarack
Are they going out of business? Closing for an inevitable remodel? What else could possibly explain how run down this course is? No weed control, not regularly mowed, no attempt to re grow grass. Even water jugs don't appear to be safe to drink from. Pot holes on cart path, as well as common areas to leave and re enter path are asking for a lawsuit - they are that deep and prevalent. I've golfed this course for 15 years. They have always leaned towards value play and weren't shy about taking on volume - outings and even winter play. But they stopped investing in upkeep. At least you
Can feel good about your own lawn after playing at Tamarack.
Great for the cost.
Greens were recently aerated but still rolling good. Challenging but fun layout. If your not straight be prepared to lose some balls, water on every hole.
Fun Course
Nice course, it has taken a beating though. It seems like nobody fixes their divots. We got a deal for 18 with a cart for 5 o clock tee time. As a foursome we ended up doing a 2 team best ball scramble and were only able to get through 11 holes before sunset. Overall cool course, difficult I would definitely want to play this course again but next time actually be able to finish it.
Wayne 's review
Good spot for above average golfers. Enough water to make a good challenge. I would return
Good course. Good conditions for February
Played int the middle of February and The course conditions were pretty good. Greens hadn't been cut and were bumpy but were playable. Even the bunkers were in pretty good shape which was surprising for the time of year. The course is very walkable so if you are looking to get out during the winter on a nice day I recommend. Jus know the course is going to be full. We teed off a full half an hour after our scheduled tee time because they were backed up.
