Tamarack Golf Club
About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

Fun Course
Nice course, it has taken a beating though. It seems like nobody fixes their divots. We got a deal for 18 with a cart for 5 o clock tee time. As a foursome we ended up doing a 2 team best ball scramble and were only able to get through 11 holes before sunset. Overall cool course, difficult I would definitely want to play this course again but next time actually be able to finish it.
Wayne 's review
Good spot for above average golfers. Enough water to make a good challenge. I would return
Good course. Good conditions for February
Played int the middle of February and The course conditions were pretty good. Greens hadn't been cut and were bumpy but were playable. Even the bunkers were in pretty good shape which was surprising for the time of year. The course is very walkable so if you are looking to get out during the winter on a nice day I recommend. Jus know the course is going to be full. We teed off a full half an hour after our scheduled tee time because they were backed up.
Tamarack 18 holes
This course is very pretty and challenges you at the same time. It is lengthy enough for the more experienced golfers and has quite a bit of sand and water to challenge you on every hole. The only reason why I didn't give it an excellent overall rating was due to the amount of bumble bees at every hole.
overpaying due to being in naperville
standing water in bunkers, rained two days before playing. had plenty of time to rank the bunkers and take care of them. need rangers on course to speed up play.
No frills. Slow play
Very slow play. Should have Rangers on the course to speed up play. Played front in 145 minutes. Back took almost 3 hours. Ridiculous. Half way house had no food ready at the turn. It was 1130.
Tough track
If you can shoot well here you can shoot well anywhere
The back nine is especially tough, lots of water
Greens are a bit slow but in good shape
Some traps need attention. Sand is not evenly dispersed
Overall worth playing
Great value
I hadn't played Tamarack in a few years and had a deal on GolfNow come up. The course was in really good shape and we flew around in 3 1/2 hours. That is really all you can ask for in a golf course; good condition and fast play.
Tamarack
I kind of like Tamarack but there are some things to note. For me it is very close to home. They have a good practice putting green that I will used, and they allow chipping. Rates are decent. No range so be aware of that! Course has some challenging holes. I think they have water on 16 of the 18 holes. On the downside, I hate that they book outings in weekends. That was the practice previously, not sure of this year. Also I wish people would rake bunkers and fix ball marks. I am not sure why this is such a problem here and not so much at other courses. No starter, no ranger and rarely (ever?) a drink cart.
Decent Course for the Money
Tamarack is a great course but is definitely not for beginners. Nearly every hole on the hole has a huge water hazard, and some even have water on both sides of the fairway. The place can get busy but I have never had an issue getting a tee time or worried about slow play time. Overall, it is a fun and challenging course for the more experienced golfer.
Tamarack Experience
Course is a challenging course with many bunkers and water obstacles strategically placed throughout. Course is well maintained. Staff is very helpful.
Tamarack
Poorly maintained the fairways very dry the Pace of the play slow no starter or Ranger people hitting more than ball we have to wait for them.too much drinking going on.
Good value
Nice course, kept in good shape. Fairways, rough and greens were all consistent. Water seems to come into play on every hole so you need to keep it straight. Only downside is no driving range.
Nice local Course
I have been playing Tamarack for a number of years now and come back at least 2-3 times a season to play. The course is challenging enough for the weekend warriors and typically under $50 for 18 with a cart on the weekend. Fairways are pretty wide open and forgiving when the hook/slice happens. Bunkers are in play but there is enough room to navigate the course. They have a couple of good water holes and Par 5's that are challenging and fun to play. For the most part the greens are consistent, there are some slopes to consider and the greens are nicely kept. I'd recommend Tamarack to anybody.
Nice Course
I like this course, is very convenience.
I will put more water cooler in the course.
water water everywhere
A challenging little course, where water is on every hole and comes into play on over half the holes. But it's fun anyway for the moderate to good golfer. Par 4 holes are mostly high 200s to low 300s in yardage for women. The clubhouse/pro shop is charming and vintage with a wrap-around porch. I would say this is one of my favorite courses in the Chicagoland area.
Great Course for Beginners/Intermediates
Had a great time playing Tamarack. Course was in great condition with roughs well maintained as well. Only downside was the pace of play - the group ahead of us was too slow.
