Tamarack Golf Club
About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

This I just one of the holes I believe 17 Photo submitted by fid12602 on 09/18/2013
An interesting course
The updated course has introduced unnecessary sand traps which takes away from the fun of the game. The sandtrap on hole 17 is definately not necessary.
Overall $30.00 for twilight felt like I overpaid. No starter, groups replaying holes, No starter; golfers not grouped to maintain pace of play.
10.4 HCP. Course not maintained. Tee Box & Greens in poor condition. Fairways not maitained well, but not as long as first cut, but close. Bunkers have large rocks bigger than golfballs. Overall disappointed. Dozens of other options to enjoy a round. Course has potential to be amazing if maintained. Hoping some improvements are made to bring me back.
Challenging course with lots of water
Enjoyed the challenge with water every hole. Course was not crowded which was a plus.
Great coarse, but bring enough balls. Lots of Sloped fairways to water.
Fun and beautifully set up coarse. Pace of play was fast on a Wed. 1st time here, so not aware of the many sloped fairways to water hazards, but it was a fair set up. Next time have a better idea of safe landing area's. Par 3's were challenging, but fair. Fairways were in pristine shape. Great for golfers who take huge divots. Soft and supple. Overall, a terrific first time experience. Would go again in a heartbeat. Only downside for me is the drive. 43 miles one way.
Competetive gree fee's. Worth the money
One of the better sub $50 course that I've played in the area. Nice and open, course was in great shape.
Not worth the money - better courses elsewhere.
I have played Tamarack in the past and enjoyed the course. From the onset, this time was different - little staff, excruciating slow play - we waited on every shot, and no rangers on the course to help play along (we had five groups on the 10th hole at one time - all in view from the clubhouse). The course was in ok shape - there were areas of very wet conditions and the sand traps were virtually unplayable for all levels of players. Additionally, there was no drinking water on the course which in the hot conditions was just unacceptable. The halfway house - if you can call it that - was little more than a bar. Go elsewhere where you will get more for your money.
A little water couldn't hurt.
As much water as there is on this course to potential hit into, the rough could definitely use some. Benches need to be placed on some of the holes for golfers who choose walk so that they have a place to sit down every once in awhile.
Not organized
We showed up to find out that the course had "double booked several morning tee times including ours. They did accommodate us by letting us go off the back nine first. It was very dis-organized for a Sunday morning start.
Horrible service throughout
No drinking water available. 1 cart lady that makes an appearance once every nine holes. On a hot day, pretty much says it all
Nice course, slow play
Tamarack is a good public course for the price. The fairways and greens were in good shape and it presented a challenge from the gold (second from the back) tees. This course has a lot of water and is pretty tight off the tees. Also, some blind approach shots and multi-tiered greens contribute to the level of difficulty. Overall, definitely worth the trip from Chicago.
Tamarack Naperville
greens need to be more consistent and were a little slow. Great value for the money
decent course, fairways run to water,in average condition
i have played lots of course, these year, i average 3 rounds a week. needs to be sprayed for the flying bugs. i play in league at 4 pm and never have as many bugs
Great Course in the SouthWestern Suburbs
Really nice course, well maintained. Lots of water hazards which makes it challenging.
Good Value
Staff was freindly and the rate was very reasonable. Challenging course in terms of length and design. Several greens are heavily guarded by bunkers/hazards. Tee boxes were fair condition.
Overall a good experience for the price.
Value added course with good staff & conditions.
Tricked up from last time I played it with water, water everywhere-but none or little to drink.
Water on or about every hole
Water on every hole but easily avoided, did not put in the water once, and I am not an exceptional golfer
Maintained very well, fairways and bunkers
Fun course, very well maintained fairways and bunkers. Challenging teebox locations from the back.
great value
The course is difficult for the average golfer. But they have a lot of deals so you really aren't disappointed. There usually isn't a ranger so play can slow down at tines. But usually those going to this course are decent players. The course is just up the street from me so I like to go at least once a month. I usually pay around $35 yo $40 which is the cheapest in this area.
