Tamarack Golf Club
About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

course would be great if it was maintained
course use to be pristine. in terrible shape. t boxes in horrific shape.
A Course Full Of Challenges
If you like a course with narrow fairways with lots of water, you found it. Beware, if don't hit 'em down the middle, chances are your ball will find its way to the water lined fairways. The greens will test your putting skills with pin placements at the most challenging part of the green. It's a great course, enjoyed playing it, lost lots of balls but also found some as well.
Great Place to Learn Course Management
As a beginner in golf (1 yr) I played this course with a seasoned golfer. Because this course has water on EVERY hole, you learn quickly that sometimes you need to sacrifice distance in order to keep your ball in play. Will definately be back here.
It was so nice to have electric carts. Smoothe ride and no noise.
The grounds were in excellent shape. Clubhouse is very nice. Look forward to playing this course again.
Great price. Need more rangers.
The course was in pretty good shape for this time of year. Pace was slow, our round took almost 5 hours, too long for a Wednesday morning. Could use some more personel, no rangers, not even a starter at number 1.
Great 9 hole deal
Got an early morning Sunday tee time for 9 holes. Great deal that includes the cart. Scorecard looks like water would be the major issue, which is it on many holes for those of us who have a hard time hitting it straight, but the bunkers were killer during this 9 holes. Would be worth another visit though at the price that I paid,
Great layout, just beaten up
Tee boxes and Greens are not well maintained. Course is great.
Challenging and in great shape for this time of year
Friendly and helpful staff, great course, I would play there once a week!
Course needs a GROUNDS KEEPER AND STAFF!!
The course needs help severe help!! The greens were tore up and the garbage cans were over flowing with beer cans everywhere on each hole. The play was very slow and they were really over booked. We never saw anyone that worked there the whole time we were there with the exception of the guy at the clubhouse were we checked in. I really hope that this course hires some people and gets it cleaned up and back to the Tamarack it was 10 years ago when I first golfed there.
Course was in horrible condition.
Course was in horrible condition - weeds and dandelions everywhere, dead grass all over many tee boxes, crabgrass everywhere. Sand was soaking wet even though we haven't had hardly any rain recently. Fairways were completely saturated in areas (many shots plugged).
Pace of Play/Lacking Course Management
I had two tee times on September 7 at 7:08 & 7:15 (Baker & Powell). No starter on the first tee box. We had to go off the 10th tee box. No ranger on course to keep groups playing at a good pace. My group was behind a father and daughter twosome, and he was coaching her and hitting multiple balls. Our Saturday round of golf was over 5 hours, will not play this course anytime soon. This is unfortunate because we normally have twelve guys playing somewhere every Saturday morning.
nice course with descent rolling greens!
We played as a 3 some, with nobody in front of us for the first 3 holes! Caught a 2 some that was held up by a 5 some, after 2 holes of being held up we called for a ranger that never showed up.. waited and played the next 2 holes called for the ranger again didn't show up. At the turn the 5 some stopped the 2 played thru, so we did too. Took 2 hours and 45 min. to play the front 9! Disappointed in the course for not getting the ranger out!
Enjoyable play. I will be back
Course played very well. We played nine holes and we"re given the opportunity to choose either front nine or back nine.
Well Maintained, But Very Tight Layout
Yesterday was my first round at Tamarack and I found the overall experience to be very good. The course is in incredible condition for the end of August, with little, if any, dry areas. The greens are very well maintained and rolled fast and true. The negative I had heard from others held true: The fairways are narrow, and out-of-bounds areas are extremely close on many holes. If I was just ten feet off left side of the fairway, I was in someone's backyard (OB). Water comes in to play on most holes, but that should be expected. The proximity of houses and OB areas is not. Also, my tee time was for 7:23 and I was the only golfer on the course. To my dismay, I had to wait until the sprinklers finally turned off at 7:30 to tee off, or I could "play through them" as suggested by the proshop attendant. The heavy use of sprinklers made the first five holes extremely wet, soggy, and everything was covered with freshly-cut grass. Once I got past the 6th hole, conditions dried out and the remainder of the round was very enjoyable. I will return to play again, but will probably try to avoid the first tee times to stay clear of sprinklers and waterlogged fairways.
tough from the tips ...poor condition
havn't played there in a number of years...used to be in great condition....very poor right now...our cart even ran out of electricity on the 5th hole ...had to call for a new one...would not recommend this place....the beverage cart girl was the only one there to service the whole course the whole day....she was great but couldn't around often enough to service the place
This course needs work
Tees were in terrible shape. Greens and fairways were pretty bad as well. Pace of play was unbearable. Carts have seen better days. My wife and I agreed we'll never go back, even if the round is free. Sorry, but too many other good offerings in the area to waste our time with this course.
Tamarack golf club
Course had a few areas that needed some work; the water coolers need to be cleaned as the water tastes like bilge water from the sewers. Some tough holes
Need repair
There are some bare ground on fairways and rough place.
Please repair them ASAP. This course is very good place to maintain quality of golf.
Sometimes the green speed became so slow. I understand I played early morning so moisture made them. I don't mean the speed of green for this play. I played there many times this year during some sunny afternoon and I felt the speed of green was too slow sometimes. Please maintain the same grass cut on the green.
I personally prefer this course and very challenge!!!!!
condition
Nice course but very poorly maintained. Desperate need of watering. Overall I enjoyed my round
Play for position on some holes
Course is fairly wide open but has some holes where placement is a must. Lots of water and sand but generally flat. Sand was plenty soft so you had a fighting chance to get the ball close. Many of the greens are guarded by traps, some on all sides. Pace of play was good for a Sunday midday, no marshals were seen but none were needed. Yardage markers are pretty easy to spot but most sprinkler heads that I saw did not have distances.
