About
Tamarack Golf Club is a course that will test your shot-making skills yet it is still player-friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. Pete Dye designed the course with tight, sculpted fairways and undulating greens that come in a range of sizes. The layout offers plenty of challenges with water or sand coming into play on every hole. The golf course will test your accuracy but it is not as difficult as many other Dye designs. The third is one of the toughest holes. A severely undulating green protected by deep bunkers makes placement vitally important on this par 3. The 15th is one of the back nine's more challenging holes. It presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity with a myriad of teeing options. Water lines the entire right side and the two-tiered green is flanked with bunkers to the front and right.

A good layout being ruined by lack of maintenance
A rather challenging course with water hazard on every hole. Fairways and greens are in relatively good condition. However, the sand bunkers are atrocious. The cart path needs major repairs. If you are a senior, please watch for numerous potholes on the cart path. For this reason I may not recommend this course to a friend.
Overbooked
Think twice about booking this on a weekend or a holiday unless you want to play a 5 1/2 hour round. We were backed up at least two groups on every single tee. I believe this was more due to overbooking than slow play.

Played at Tamarack for the first time
The course is quite close to my house and it’s a nice course and we generally enjoyed our time there. The only problem was that our teatime was 5:32 AM and the pro shop only opened after 6 AM so a bunch of us with earlier tee times were waiting, and we all got bunched for the first, couple holes and then after that the pace of play as good.
There is also no ranger so there was lack of discipline on the part of certain golfers who getting impatient when the ahead of their teatime and there was nobody to monitor anything.

Don’t overpay
Terrible bunkers. No sand in most of them and others had huge rocks in them. Need to move the tee box around and hole position.

Not impressed
Staff seemed very confused at every point in interaction with them. I don’t want to see it’s because they were all young kids, but everyone seemed very unorganized.. We finding signage was not good at all. TB is had missing markers. Bunkers were filled with water and very hard. I’m not sure I would go back even if I got a smoking deal. There are better courses out there for the money.

Pace of play was terrible
Overall the course is decent for the fees they charge which are lower than average. The pace of play was the biggest issue. I ended up quitting without finishing the last 3 holes due to how long it took to play each hole. At no point was there any course employees managing this. The groups ahead should have been notified to allow us to play through. It’s an expensive sport to not be able to finish a round you paid for. 18 holes would have take n us 5 1/2 hours.
