great setting
close to everything but feels like the country. good verity of holes good design
Great Course
The course is challenging with some long carries. The short par 4's are fun. The greens are immaculate with challenging contours but they run true and fast. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have played there three times this summer on both courses and enjoyed myself each time.
Great Greens
The overall condition of the course was very good. The greens where consistent and true from green to green make it much more enjoyable.
Lower the green fees!
This is a beautiful golf course with exceptional greens and fairways. Played around noon and could only see 3 other groups on the course! For this part of the country, the green fees are too much, even if the course is very nice. Lower your prices and you will fill up the course.
best course in Portland
This course was in prime shape. Played a early 730a tee time. Had deal with a little mower noise. But they were respectful and idled down when you are hitting. Greens rolled so pure. I could play this course everyday. Very challenging but fair.
no course management
great facility......unfortunately after my twosome teed off on time, starter made us stand on teebox for over 10 minutes for another twosome to join. started 2 1/2 holes behind foursome ahead, and slow play of pairing made us over 4 holes behind by end of 1st 9.
No course marshalls to manage play.
Way too Slow
Showed up after booking a hot deal online and prepaid. Assumed I would be paired with a threesome or even a twosome. Starter tried to send me off as a single at 1230 on a Friday afternoon. Needless to say round was ruined. I walked off after 9 holes.
What a waste of money and time.
North course
Beautiful facility but the course is a little tricked up to compensate for it's lack of length on a couple of really short par fours. In fact, much of the back nine seems jammed together including some parallel fairways. Next time I think I'll try the South Course.
north course
This course is in amazing condition. It's a great layout in a truly beautiful setting. Well worth the money! You won't be disappointed if you play here.
Never a disappointment
I always have a good time playing The Reserve. Both the North Course and South Course are enjoyable and a challenge. The greens were obviously aerated within the passed couple weeks so the greens were a little bumpy but appeared to be healing nicely. The course should be in great shape in the next couple weeks.
Can't wait for better weather
Played North course...greens were aerated and sanded but still rolled well... tee to green a little soft in places so really can't wait to see some dry weather and how the greens turn out.
Not as wet as expected!
As always, a great course. The back side is short from the blue tees, but there are a few holes that jump up and bite you. Fun track.
Play the course
Fun course to play. Very interesting hole layouts and beautifully maintained. The North course is the side I like the best. More water, less sand. More unusual hole layouts. The South course is more picturesque.
oh what a day I had
Thank you for a wonderful time I will be.back soon!!
Awesome challenge
This course was a challenge and loads of fun. I had to drove about 2 hours and deal with traffic going home, but I would do it again.
Got lucky - weather was fine
While the forecast didn't look favorable we got lucky and stayed dry all day! The course, and especially the greens, was in great shape. We even had some fun banter with the stater who was very friendly... Great day!!!
Still very good course even in the winter season
The fairway condition still good in the winter season but need to figure out after several rainy days. Green still tough and speedy. Good deal with power cart and worth to playing.
Great course
It started in rain finished in sunshine, course in great condition, the greens had been aerated 7 days prior but they were still in great shape
Priced me out in 2013
This was my first trip to The Reserve in 2013 due to what seems to be a significant rate hike. Played ~15 times in 2012 and paid 20-30% less in green fees.
Still love the courses and tee box staff was very friendly and accomodating. Recent aeration was advertized and no big suprise, which was nice to see.
Wish I could go more but rates are keeping me away.
Reserve North: Great golf experience
This golf course is nice (pristine conditions, great design) and challenging for all levels. I am a 20 handicap golfer and always enjoy playing this course. You start with a friendly par 5 (easy if you don't land your ball in the rough) but the green is fast and difficulty (but well balanced). There are a couple of short par 4's that will challenge your accuracy but can reward you with a birde (hole 7). The hole 18 is a beauty; par 5 with water to the right and the green is big enough to try a long approach but get a birdie there will require all your skills (take a picture of the club house located behind the green).
Remember, this is a review from a 20 hcp golfer; you can't go wrong with this course (I score from 92-95 in good weather).
