Bang for Dollar
The Reserve is an amazing course in every way possible. If you can find a tee time for your budget lock it down and come early to prepare for a fun round. This is the perfect course to pretend you're at Augusta National one shot behind and coming down the home stretch.
Reserve mid week
Be able to get out at 9AM and finish in less than 4 hours was a terrific mid-week break. Great course.
Great course
Great course, great staff. this was my first time at this course and would play here again.
Great Course
The greens were a little slow and the course was really crowded on a sunny day. Overall I had a great time with the people I was matched up with.. There was a wedding just about to start when we finished and we were given a heads from a marshall to watch the language. This course is one of the best in the Portland area..
Great track
Very impressed with the course. Very fair and in excellent condition. Can't wait to play the south course next
Reserve has gone down hill
I was a member here for quite a few years and got out because of the poorly ran facilities. I came out to play on Sunday because of the great weather. This place has become a below average course because of the lack of detail, upkeep and awareness of the properties dire need of improvements. How sad because it could be a fabulous operation if there was some good management and ownership that got involved.
Bad Greens
Greens were very bumpy and in poor condition.
I play this course often and have never seen greens like this before.
Nice
Nice course but had quite a few wet spots. The rough was too long.
A little more dry weather and this course will be perfect.
Slow round, but still fun!
First time at the Reserve for me, had a great coupon deal from GolfNow. weather great for Feb 20- mostly sunny, high 50's and calm. Paired up with a mixed group, a beginner and two others of average skills….all had a fun and easy going attitude, so we all had a fun day, though slow for me at 5 hours. A foursome should play here in 3.5 to 4 hours.Tee to green was in very good shape for winter, with only a few soggy spots, though the roughs were quite ragged and very soggy…tough to get a clean shot out of.We had carts, 90 degrees thankfully. Looks like this course would be fun to walk, as long as it's not too wet. It's pretty straightforward with some small greens, and a few hidden hazards could add strokes, but if you hit straight, no issues. I would like to come back in prime season.
Ground conditions were swampy
Fairwys were cut but not the roughs probably due to the ground being extremely mushy, with balls pluggin and then taking the time to search took away the enjoyment factor. So in other words this course does not drain. The weather however was sunny and some gusts of wind for over aweek unfortunately that didn't help to dry the course at all. Despite this I will continue to come here and play, will just choose a better time.
great winter course
the course was in great condition for the winter...there was drainage being put in on the second hole so it played as a par 3.
the fairways were firm for the time of year
got a great deal for $30 on golf now
not many bunkers compared to the south course
North course does not drain well
I played after rain had stopped for 2 days and the course fairways were still very spongy.
At some spots the water was still visible
Foggy & Soggy
I love this course, and I play it at least 5-6 times in the summer. This time however was super foggy for most of the day. The course was also very wet. Even if you saw your ball land you couldn't fine it unless you're standing on top of it. Plugged all the way.
The course was scenic in the rain
The North course was in good shape, but the drainage could be better..pretty muddy in parts.
Really Good Course
I love the north course. Good condition through fairway even in winter
The Reserve (North)
2nd time playing the North course. Played the blues (6344/71.7/128) and got in 27 holes in slightly less than 6H, so POP was good, basically 2 hour 9's. $35 w a cart on Golf Now on a Sunday afternoon that was beautiful, partly cloudy, temp in the high 60's, mild breeze. It has rained up here several days this past week, so the conditions were lush and soft. I was told the greens were being aerated tomorrow. However, they were done last week. They were bumpy & putted medium/slow, which is why the overall course rating is so low. They held approach shots great, almost too well @ times. The traps were very well maintained, nice, thick sand. The tees were lush and well maintained. Both the fairways and rough were lush and well maintained. Not too many divots, didn't have a bad lie AD except when my ball plugged. This is a links style course, so there are traditional areas on almost every hole that is ankle to calf to knee deep that you plain HAVE to avoid. 75% chance lost ball, and on the 25% chance you find your ball, it's a toss-up whether it's an unplayable lie or MAYBE you can whack a wedge out and advance it somewhat. The cart gal was around 3-4 times, and the customer service from the pro shop, to the starter to the guy who cleans your clubs when you return the cart are all ++. They have a unique private/public course rotating system @ the Reserve. Their two courses change every 15 days between public and private, so the members always have a private course and 36 holes to choose from on a monthly basis. The 2 courses as a whole are top notch, clearly in the upper echelon of places to play in the Portland area. The North course (37-35 par 72 layout, five par 5's and five par 3's) is more of a links style course, few trees and the tee shot landing areas were pretty generous on most holes. Two of the short par 4's I hit irons off the tee, other than that, there was no question that I was hitting driver on every other par 4 & par 5. Most of the greens are elevated with run-offs on some or all sides. Many holes have mowed down collection areas and large mounds you have to putt, chip, pitch or lob over or around. Not that many sand traps, I was only in one in 27 holes. The two courses @ the Reserve are SO different, yet both are immaculately maintained. The Reserve is definitely one of my favorite all-time places to play. For the $$$ difference, I would take The Reserve over Pumpkin Ridge even though Pumpkin Ridge is also one of my all-time favorite courses.
No Bunker Play Today
Played well with no bunker trouble through 18 holes.
Raining to start the round and had been raining for the last 5 or 6 days. Conditions were wet but not too bad.

Perfect fall day
It was one of those perfect fall days, no clouds no wind, 68 degrees. The course was nearly deserted so it was like playing on our own private course!!!
nice course
2nd time playing. first time playing was a pretty quick round, this time was a little slower. Overall time wasnt horrible, but there was a big difference once we hit the back 9 and we had to wait a bit. overall its one of my favorite courses in the area and i would play again.
