Cheap Fees, Cheap Course
With a $28 weekend rate, you can't go into a course expecting much. Overall, it is not that challenging of a course. The greens were on the soft side, but not overly slow. Most fairways were cut short, with longer rough. There were a few tee boxes that needed major attention. Had the first tee time of the day, so got through the round fairly quick. As cheap as it is, I could imagine the course getting congested in the afternoon.
cant beat for the price
Course has really came around in the last two years, fairways are in great shape and seem to be very well maintained. greens are in great condition, tenfold compared to prior years(different owner/staff). roll true and are fairly firm as compared to prior years when you didnt know what your ball would do when you hit it. several tee boxes are the only complaint, uneven and bare in spots. other than that you cant really beat it for the price and condition of the course.
antioch golf course
Greens were in good shape, play was slow. Lots of beginners on the course so you have to watch out for stray balls as people do not yell four on wayward shots.
Short and Challenging
The Course is in good shape and will make you want to take advantage of their short par 4's by pulling your Driver. Unless you can control it, Driver isn't really needed on many holes here. Each is hole is challenging as both sides of the fairway are surrounded by trees, homes, water, etc.
I enjoyed playing here but would definitely manage the course better in future rounds.
Great Course - Great Value
Antioch Golf Club is a great course to play at. It is definitely one of the best values around. The other day I paid $25 w/ cart for unlimited golf. I have yet to see a better deal online for all you can play golf. The course is in great condition, the fairways are kept short and the greens are rolling beautifully. The sand traps were a bit hard, but they were filling them with new sand that day so they are much better now. The staff is fantastic and very friendly. I would recommend this course to all golfers of all skill sets.
Great value and great fun!
Took my 7-year old nephew to play his first 9-holes ever. Had a blast!! Great value golf course. Would recommend to anyone who wants to play a quick, fun round of golf and not lose many golf balls.
Not what it used to be- but priced right...
The course has declined along with the pricing- which is appropriate. After playing the course back when Ken and/or Vince were the pros, it was more expensive, but also much better maintained. I'm not sure which one came first, but it used to be worth the poor layout of teeing off just steps from peoples back door and playing through their yards because it was in great shape. Now that the quality has fallen off, it's priced right at $28 for a weekend round on GolfNow. Bunker edges should not be heavily weeded, sand should resemble sand- not rocky concrete, many greens were shot and under repair, etc... Cart paths used to be nice gravel, now it looks like they chunked up a street and left the mini boulders for mass. If in the area, pay the extra few dollars and go to Fox Lake or Chapel Hill (which is in better shape even though they filed for bankruptcy years ago!).
Can't beat the value
A very interesting course, my second 18-hole course, at a really great price with the golfnow.com Hot Deal.
A couple of very challenging holes, the greens and fairways were in fair shape.
Variety of holes, and decent Sunday Pace of Play. Ranger was present on course, kept everybody moving.
Good pace of play, Ranger was present on the course. Great Staff. Great Value ($28)
Decent course with tricky back nine
The front nine is pretty vanilla with some longer holes but the back nine can be tricky with many placement shots needed. This is not the longest course but is fun to play.
Great Value for this Course
A nice lil getaway for those of us who live on the north side of the city. Great value. Course is in a neighborhood but the houses rarely come into play.
great cours to improve your game.
tee boxes could use a lot of work. greens were true. fairways in good shape. rough could be cut. was a good value for tne money. I enjoy playing this course.
nice little public course
Decent course good for working on your game. Par 5's are more challenging than a lot of courses
Worse than awful
I arrived 1/2 hour before my tee time with my daughter. I was advised that a league was currently playing so we would start on hole #10. I no sooner got into my cart, drove us to the tee, set my GPS, and placed my ball when a league member pulls up demanding the tee, questioning my pace of play and generally being rude. This in front of my daughter. We moved ahead to the 12th to get away from these people as they forgot the etiquette of the game all together. The course was in abhorrent condition and was not worthy of even the $23 fee. When I returned to the clubhouse after finishing our round the staff was aware of the situation. The pro, if you want to call him that (not registered with the IL PGA after a phone call), was less than unapologetic. We then decided to get a couple of hot dogs then leave to never return. The hot dogs were frozen on the inside! Overall terrible experience. I would highly recommend anyone avoid this course no matter how awesome the deal seems.
Nice course with a good price
Only took over 5 hrs. Because it was Father's Day. Have played course before in under 4hrs. Nice course maintained well
Some fun holes!
7-8 Minute Tee Time intervals is a joke. Public couse on a Sunday needs at least 10 Min. intervals. Range ball $3 a bucket to hit in to a net? Course way to crowed with no ranger on the course, only a starter. Booded same tee times.
bunkers need sand.
recycled black top for cart path, ugly and rough.
ok course for $23.00. not $30.00.
Lost ball
This course was very narrow and overall short. If you don't control your driver, your best bet is to hit your wedges. The rough is long and thick and you will hopefully find more balls than you lose. Holes are very close together and you will spend a lot of time driving into subdivisions to the next hole, which I found cool. Greens are very nice and the course is worth the money.
Good course, great deal !!!
Price was great, condition was good. The guys had a great time what else can you ask for !!!
