Arlington Lakes Golf Club
About
Arlington Lakes Golf Club is situated amid the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Locals treasure the course as one of the area's hidden gems. At 5,331 yards from the back tees, this par-68 layout is on the shorter side but don't underestimate its level of difficulty. Besides the mature trees that frame many of the holes and 14 lakes that come into play, there are more than 100 strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The layout also features small, sloped greens that demand accuracy but you can take comfort in the fact that there are no doglegs. With strategic shot-placement and a bit of luck, there are some birdie opportunities available. The shorter length of the golf course will appeal to beginners but it's versatile for more advanced players to enjoy as well.

Hot deal great value good condition
Pay $11 hot deal. Course in great condition, It was a light traffic day on good friday. Finish the course in exactly 4 hours. Fairway was wet, but green and course are in great condition. Recommenced for beginner golfers short course most part 4s are under 400 yards.
PRICE WAS EXCELLENT. DECENT COURSE EARLY TO WORK ON SHORT GAME
Great short course
The renovations looked great. The course was in great shape.
Chicago golf in November 72 degrees
The course was in good shape and the pace of play was acceptable, 4 hours. The staff is friendly and we teed off on time.
Arlington Lakes, Above Average Course
We had a Foursome with a 2:30 Tee time and that's too late to finish the 18-holes before darkness in October. Most holes have water on both sides making it very important to keep your ball on the fairway.
Greens were nicely maintained and the Holes were fast. Tee shot ground was extra hard; so hard we had difficulty inserting the Tee.
Personnel are helpful, courteous and friendly and the course is one you'll like to play more than once!
Mediocre
We were hyped to play this course since it was redesigned, but left us unsatisfied. Only a few holes seemed changed, with some trees removed. We played after a lot of rain, and the greens were still fairly quick with hard to see undulations. The tee boxes were all in pretty bad shape, and there were not enough yardage markers. Some of the rough was really thick and wet, which made shots difficult. The front 9 isn't bad, but the back has 2 drive-able par 4s and many unexciting holes. I was hoping for more changes during the redesign, but its still just a mediocre course, not worth playing for more than $30, or a good course for walking. Also the sprinklers on the green next to us turned on randomly...luckily no one was there at the time but it was a little concerning.
Major remodel - no big whoop.
This course was closed all last season for a major overhaul. It reopened around July 4th. I don't know what the "overhaul" cost, but it was not money well spent. To me, it seemed pretty much identical to the "old" course. VERY short, par 68. Tee boxes haven't grown in yet. Fairways were ok. Greens were ok. I was hoping for an improved, interesting new layout. Most of the holes are identical to what they were. Maybe 2 or 3 holes have changed slightly. One par 3 was turned around so the new green used to be the tee.
Re design not that great
I can't believe the 3 star rating from other golfers. They must be comparing the re design to the old course. It's a par 68 course with some hard tee shots and some longer par fours. However, the ground is like a rock. The greens putt well, but don't hold a shot unless you have pro spin.Yardage markers are non-exsistent,so you better have a gps unit. The grass is bluegrass. The conditioning is very average. It attracts beginners, seniors, and people who have no knowledge of golf ettiquete.I won't be back.
the worst golfcouse I've ever played!!!!
I payed my online green fees only to be charged an additional $22.00 per golfer [times 2] at the check in time with no explanation. The tee boxes were so hard that you couldnot push the tees down without breaking. The greens were pitted from divot holes. The fairways and ruff areas were dry with bare dirt.
The fairways had weeds. The course was in need of TLC. The twilight charges need to be addressed before the supposed fees are finalized.
I had a 340pm on Monday the 6th,2016.
Arlington Lakes Course
This was the 2nd time that I played this course - 1st since their re-design. Course was in great shape. A little dry in some areas, but hard to blame the course. Being a lefty, I noticed quite a few holes with water in the left. Good mix of par-3's. Course is worth a visit.
GREAT TIME
I could have great time with my freinds.
Arlington lakes
The course was in good condition, played kinda slow but that's to be expected here. They switched the nines. So the front is the back & so on. Also I think they added a new green or two since they revamped the course. Overall the changes to the bunkers were nice but still challenging.
Fun course
This course is fun for various skill level players and is a good value. Conditions are generally good except for tee boxes. Greens are small, challenging for putting and difficult to hold.
looks nice
played a little slow in my opinion
Very good value
Everything was very good, staff, sign in, carts, pace of play and course condition. Looking forward to returning.
A challenging course transformed to an average course
On July 1, 2016 Arlington Lakes reopened after a year of renovations. So I am writing this review as a person who played the course many times before the renovations took place.
Bottom line: I liked the old course better. It was much more challenging; therefore, in my opinion, the old course was more fun to play.
An employee explained to me that the renovations sought to make the course easier to play; hence, an expected increase in the pace of play. I've played the "new" course three times and have not experienced a significant increase in the pace of play from the old course.
However, Arlington Lakes is now an easier course to play than before the renovations. Unfortunately, to me, many trees were cut down thus making what were once interesting holes very mundane.
There is plenty of water on this course and many narrow fairways. So accuracy is the key to success particularly because this is a short course from the back tees. So distance is not problematic.
The greens are in excellent condition and are not particularly fast.
So if you want to play some interesting target golf, give Arlington Lakes a try.
The NEW Arlington Lakes
Distance markers were not consistent. Some holes had stakes, some had fairway discs, some painted distances on cart paths. Need more drinking water.
Grass on Tee boxes was pretty rough.
Not worth the money.
Huge renovations were made and I thought I'd give it another shot. Unfortunately, I find it still not worth the amount of money they charge (especially on a day in the 90's). It is a great course for beginners.
Positives: Greens, bunkers, and fairways were in great shape. A lot better than before.
Negatives: Pace of play, tee boxes chewed up, and the cost.
Not worth it
If you want to play at a retirement home golf course come here. If you like playing with old ppl come play here. Started at 11:50 ended 4:15..And the course wasn't even long 5226 yards less then 6000yards will not play here ever again . The par 3 off of Dundee rd and 53 so much better.
Its a great course
A real SHAME they are tearing it apart and NO golf for over a year
