Arlington Lakes Golf Club
About
Arlington Lakes Golf Club is situated amid the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Locals treasure the course as one of the area's hidden gems. At 5,331 yards from the back tees, this par-68 layout is on the shorter side but don't underestimate its level of difficulty. Besides the mature trees that frame many of the holes and 14 lakes that come into play, there are more than 100 strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The layout also features small, sloped greens that demand accuracy but you can take comfort in the fact that there are no doglegs. With strategic shot-placement and a bit of luck, there are some birdie opportunities available. The shorter length of the golf course will appeal to beginners but it's versatile for more advanced players to enjoy as well.

its short
This isn't my first choice because it s very short and nothing special. A great price though and I'd play for a quick weekday round
great greens, lots of undulations and bunkers on every hole.
The fairways were in great shape and the roughs were fairly cut. Did not see a ranger around. So, hard to ask why people were walking instead of using carts on an early Saturday. Morning tee times should be labeled for faster golfers and not for real slow foursomes.
Nice course but slow pace
The course was interesting with some challenging holes (9th hole is the toughest with all of the water surrounding the green) and interesting pin placements. We teed off at 12:30 and finished close to 5pm due to the many foursomes in front of us - we played "ready golf" the whole time to keep the groups behind us from backing up.
The bunkers reminded me of St. Andrews - they were deep and steep to get out of.
Hot weather lot's of 4somes equals long day
The weather was warm and the afternoon a bit humid. Pace of play was slow and bringing the wife along to play made it slower yet at it takes two shots to equal one of mine and then waiting for two other's to hit their balls made the day seem long. The course was a bit rough in spots not the worst I've seen but not the best condition either. You also have to also remember it is a muni. There isn't Ruffled Feather's money put into the course. The rough was a touch long the fairways nicely mowed. Water everywhere only found it once though. Greens were a bit challenging to read with subtle breaks but they break as expected toward the water away from hills/elevation. Everyone was nice and friendly. My best advice is go early and set the pace or later maybe even on a weekday as the weekends seem to be solid foursomes throughout the day.
Just like I remembered it.
Fun but Challenging course with rough that was deep.
Arlington
Beautiful
Day
This course beat me up, I shot 91. I can't wait to play there again.
good for senior people.
Arlington lake is not far from city. The cost is reasonable. Good for senior to get exercise.
golf carts not allowed !
The course was wet, due to earlier rains. They did not allow carts. Was hard to walk on the wet ground.
We decided to quite after 9 holes. They did not give rain checks, saying we contact you!
great staff, great value
average difficulty with some narrow holes, just enough water and bunkers. Staff very helpful, offered to take my clubs to the cart as I checked in and found my putter cover. Can't beat the price! I thoroughly enjoyed myself
Good course for the price
This is a great course for the price, can't find an average $29/round, carts included, course around the area so I have no complaints on the average course condition at times... Overall you get what you pay for
Arlington Lakes
Nice local course. Great Value, convenient location.
Beautiful Setting
This course is challenging. Trees, hills and water.
Bring an extra sleeve of balls. Nice long fairways for those who need to practice distance. Greens could be better manicured.
Nice shorter course
First time golfing here. We were a twosome and got paired up with a couple nice guys, which helps. Course was crowded but tee time was upheld and the pace of play was OK for as crowded as it was. If you are straight you can score well here, but the fairways are very tight and you can get into trouble easy and balloon your score quick Tons of bunkers so bring your beach clothes. Cart girl was always around but no rangers in sight, so if there is slow play don't really know what would be done about it.
Very slow and poor green conditions
They continuously allow fivesomes out which causes backups all over the course. I saw at least 3 fivesomes out in front of us and this was not the first time I have had to deal with this. The average golfer at this course do not repair divots on the greens making them very bumpy. I will likely never play this course again.
Golf Course
This is a good course to play a relaxing round of good golf, it's a shorter course but with the bunkers and water it can have it's way with you at times. A very good value.
Lucy
Enjoyable course with lots of water. The speed of play was a problem on our round, because a foursome of men ahead of us were very slow and not allowing two-somes to play through.
The staff was very helpful when I lost my iPhone.
Very polite and willing to go out of their way to help me find it. Which we did!
Great Value
Great course. Good pace and friendly stall. We'll maintained course. Well worth the reasonable rates.
Nice course, nice layout
Nice course with a challenging but score friendly layout. Several elevated tee boxes, lots of sand traps and water hazards. Some of the traps are very deep around the greens and plentiful! We played 18 at 8:15 am on the 4th of July and were done at noon. Have fun with hole #9, that green layout is ridiculous and requires a 3rd shot that drops and stops to have any chance there.
Rating says it all
Didn't need to drive far for an affordable course that is in good shape. Pay a little slow for early morning play
