About
Bartlett Hills Golf Club has been a favorite Chicagoland golf destination since it first opened in 1929. To keep the layout up to modern standards, it has undergone many changes over the years but it still has the same classic character. At 6,463 yards from the back tees, this traditional layout might not be long but it still provides a fair test. Rather than distance, the golf course demands smart play and accurate shot placement thanks to narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky doglegs. You might not have many chances to use your driver but you'll definitely get some iron practice. There isn't too much trouble off of the tees at Bartlett Hills G.C. But greenside you'll be faced with nearly 30 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards come into play on seven holes, which include some forced carries.

Consistently good. Every time I play this course I love it. Always in good shape, greens are so smooth. Seems like it gets better every time I play it. Two thumbs up

Holiday golf
Playing on the Fourth of July can be challenging. The pace of play on this course was very slow due to just a couple of groups. There were big gaps and big bunches.This put a damper on it otherwise very good course experience.

Complete 180
Use to be a complete dump and that was a real shame cause the village owns a really cool golf course but wow has it changed the past few years. Greens are so fast! Fairways in outstanding shape and some bunkers have actual sand.

I’m almost reluctant to post a 5-star review about this hidden gem because I don’t want everyone to discover it and limit my opportunities to play here! It’s a challenging course with great optics and in excellent condition. The greens are fast.

Hidden Gem
Bartlett Hills is a hidden gem. The course is always in great shape, the layout is somewhat challenging and the greens are quick and in great condition. Great for weekly play or outings. The food is excellent. Best of all, the staff is always super friendly.

Great Course with Fast Greens
This was my first playing Bartlett Hills and I was very impressed by the condition of the fairways and greens. Fairways were perfect and the greens were fast and rolled true. For a Municipal course the condition of both the fairways and greens were very surprising. The one bunker I found had dirt instead of sand and I did see a few stones. The course layout is very interesting, the front is tree lined and tight, where the back opens up and is a little more generous off the tee. Both 9's have plenty of elevation changes with quite a few elevated tee boxes. Overall, I enjoyed the course and will be back again, soon!

Pleasantly surprised
Very friendly atmosphere in the pro shop/bar. Teed off at 11am and price for a Saturday was very fair. Played just over 4 hours. Surprised to actually see a ranger on the course. Fun front nine that is somewhat tight and open back 9. Greens fast and tees and fairways all in good condition.

Try at least once
A little pricey from what I would consider an average course. If you can score some golf now coupons and play mid week, it would be worth it. I wouldn’t give them a dime on the weekends.

Sand traps like concrete
I’ve played this course a bunch of times over the last decade. Usually they have trouble keeping the grass alive but this time the fairways and the rough were in excellent shape. The greens were fast and challenging which I like. However the traps could use some attention. Even going and turning it over with a shovel. One of the guys in our foursome had bent the shaft of his sand wedge and by the 13th hole we were offering relief so that wouldn’t happen to anyone else. That’s something that shouldn’t happen on a course you pay this much for. Other than that we had a great round.

Great Shape. Challenging
Greens were lightening fast with breaks everywhere. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent.

Fun/different course for the area
Lots of elevation made it a great round. One of the better courses in the area that is not talked about. My biggest complaint in the past about this course was the terrible bunkers. It looks like they are in the process of making new ones. Can’t wait to come back and play a course with sand in the bunkers
