About
Bartlett Hills Golf Club has been a favorite Chicagoland golf destination since it first opened in 1929. To keep the layout up to modern standards, it has undergone many changes over the years but it still has the same classic character. At 6,463 yards from the back tees, this traditional layout might not be long but it still provides a fair test. Rather than distance, the golf course demands smart play and accurate shot placement thanks to narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky doglegs. You might not have many chances to use your driver but you'll definitely get some iron practice. There isn't too much trouble off of the tees at Bartlett Hills G.C. But greenside you'll be faced with nearly 30 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards come into play on seven holes, which include some forced carries.

Sand traps like concrete
I’ve played this course a bunch of times over the last decade. Usually they have trouble keeping the grass alive but this time the fairways and the rough were in excellent shape. The greens were fast and challenging which I like. However the traps could use some attention. Even going and turning it over with a shovel. One of the guys in our foursome had bent the shaft of his sand wedge and by the 13th hole we were offering relief so that wouldn’t happen to anyone else. That’s something that shouldn’t happen on a course you pay this much for. Other than that we had a great round.

Great Shape. Challenging
Greens were lightening fast with breaks everywhere. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was excellent.

Fun/different course for the area
Lots of elevation made it a great round. One of the better courses in the area that is not talked about. My biggest complaint in the past about this course was the terrible bunkers. It looks like they are in the process of making new ones. Can’t wait to come back and play a course with sand in the bunkers

Played like crap but nice course!
Like the title says, I played a horrible game but the course for the price was great! Greens fast and small, fairways in great condition. My only knock was tee boxes always seamed to be a little out of level and I always felt like I was trying find level ground. Course is really nice and actually has some elevation on some holes. Not a lot of water or sand to mess with and pretty spread out you don’t feel like you’re on a switchback course worried about spliced balls hitting you. Definitely will be going back.

Maintenance
Greens were terrible, bald spots and very hard. Tee boxes were a mess, no repairs done, and it looked they haven't been moved in days.

No CDGA Handicapping for this course
The staff were friendly . The from half of the course is flat. The back half of the course is scenic with rolling hills- hills where ski lessons are taught in winter. Ski lifts are overhead.. There are minimal amenities in The “pro shop”.
The course is in rough shape, partly due to the drought but often it was hard to tell a fairway from the rough. The course has not been rated by the CDGA in over 20 years so there are no handicaps available and you therefore can’t enter scores into the CDGA system for this course.

Lots Positives, alittle TLC and perfect
I have played here a handful of times in the last few years. The course has been in good shape everytime and the greens are above average for area. The course is a great balance for beginners and seasoned players. The beverage cart is always around a few times and course plays just over 4hours each time. If the city sunk in some money to clean up the dead trees and rough patches along with add some sand in the bunkers this place could really be something. It is a strong four stars and couldbe a five with some TLC.

Have not played in a few years. Felt like I was putting at a country club. Greens had to be rolling 12+. Fairways well above average. Big driving range. Very well managed
