About
Bartlett Hills Golf Club has been a favorite Chicagoland golf destination since it first opened in 1929. To keep the layout up to modern standards, it has undergone many changes over the years but it still has the same classic character. At 6,463 yards from the back tees, this traditional layout might not be long but it still provides a fair test. Rather than distance, the golf course demands smart play and accurate shot placement thanks to narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky doglegs. You might not have many chances to use your driver but you'll definitely get some iron practice. There isn't too much trouble off of the tees at Bartlett Hills G.C. But greenside you'll be faced with nearly 30 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards come into play on seven holes, which include some forced carries.

Personal feedback was heard by course management
I golfed Bartlett Hills 10 days ago and provided a review regarding poor conditions of the bunkers. Since this is one of my favorite courses in suburban Chicago, I played again with a different friend. I warned him to stay out of the bunkers ahead of time. Too my surprise and appreciation to the staff at Bartlett, I was thrilled to see immediately upon my arrival the added sand on the 18th green! While the sand was average at best throughout the course, the fact that you heard me and added sand to previously rock hard bunkers was amazing!! Thank you!! I will be back!!

surprisingly challenging and well maintained little gym of a course
It was raining during our tee time and there was an outing so the staff worked around the outing for us and worked us in. The course looks wide open but that is deceiving. You have to hit it straight here to score for the most part. Greens, bunkers and fairways are all in excellent condition.

Nice course
Excellent pace of play, group finished in 3.5hr. Teeboxes fairways and greens in great condition. Several challenging holes make it more enjoyable. Great staff and clean carts a plus.

Read Phase 4 Guidelines
These guys think they can take a pass on phase 4 guidelines. No masks in clubhouse, pairing up non household people on carts with no controls for vax or non vaxxed people. On top of this, course maintenance in non fairway is worst I have ever seen. Not going back as their pricing is overpriced for what they offer. Way more options in their area that care about their customers instead of maxing their dollars.

Favorite course...except...
I consider Bartlett Hills as one of my top two courses to play. However, the condition of the bunkers are not good....avoid at all cost! Usually, when you think of playing out of sand, you hit the ball an inch or two behind to allow fluffy sand to carry your shot. The sand is rock hard and you have to play it like you are playing on gravel or a fairway bunker and clip it clean. Will the management be considering adding loose sand to make it more appropriate to other courses?
