Bartlett Hills Golf Club
About
Bartlett Hills Golf Club has been a favorite Chicagoland golf destination since it first opened in 1929. To keep the layout up to modern standards, it has undergone many changes over the years but it still has the same classic character. At 6,463 yards from the back tees, this traditional layout might not be long but it still provides a fair test. Rather than distance, the golf course demands smart play and accurate shot placement thanks to narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky doglegs. You might not have many chances to use your driver but you'll definitely get some iron practice. There isn't too much trouble off of the tees at Bartlett Hills G.C. But greenside you'll be faced with nearly 30 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards come into play on seven holes, which include some forced carries.

Greens were excellent - Loved the hilly course
Very nicely maintained course with interesting holes throughout. I liked the front 9 a little more than the back. The greens were beautiful and that alone made this course stand out. It's a pretty short course, but it's tree-lined holes can be difficult if you're not hitting it straight. Also, you'll have plenty of non-flat lies which is also something that makes the course play more difficult than most midwestern courses. The only big criticism I have was it's pretty tough to find the entrance to the golf course. For some reason, they have a big sign on Rt. 59 that makes it look like the entrance to the golf course. I can attest that it is not.
Tree lined but Playable
Plenty of trees but fairways open up to give you an out. Good condition definitely will play it more often.
Better than expected
My experience at Bartlett Hills turned out a lot better than I expected. I had an 11am tee time on a Saturday with excellent weather and the course was not backed up. And yes, there are "hills" at Bartlett Hills that you will end up going up and down over while playing.
The course is fairly open and only a few forced carries exist. The greens were in very good shape as were the fairways. While the greens were not as fast as the best courses in the area, the ball did seem to roll out a ways when chipping.
The tee boxes were generally good, only a few were beveled.
Due to the set-up of the course (OB and narrowness of some of the longer holes) and the fact it is not that long (the back tees are around 6450), a long iron or fairway wood off the tees will keep you out of trouble.
GPS needed
GPS is needed would be top course if had it. It has potential for top course
Great round for a steal!
I was able to get a hot deal rate of 20$, the course was in wonderful condition especially the greens.
a good challenge for the price
very well taken care of. Friendly staff. Overall great experience.
Beautiful golf course in great condition!
Played here with a group of friends and found Bartlett Hills to be in fantastic condition! Some courses have had MAJOR issues with winter kill but we didn't find that here. Greens were exceptional as well as the fairways. Pace was pretty good for such a busy day.
an enjoyable day
Thought the greens were in excellent shape considering the time of year
Very good condition for October
Played on a crisp October morning. Pace of play was excellent. Course was in good condition, the fairways had been aerated. The greens were true and fast.
Beautiful cozy golf course.
Beautiful course. I love this one. I will take my bodies there. Again beautiful.
awesome round of golf
Course was in immaculate conditions and round of golf was actually one of the best I've ever had.
Will definitely play again
excellent condition
course was in great shape, staff very accomdating, played early so pace was 3 hrs for 18
good value through GolfNow
Good deal/conditions
Played on a Friday, not crowded...Been to a couple of higher-priced courses recently & the greens here were in great shape in comparison..Got a great deal & played in under 4 hrs. Certainly will go back there.
Enjoy playing here.
We play here several times a year. We wouldn't continue to play somewhere if it didn't 'feel' right!
Well maintained.
Staff was very friendly. Made us feel welcome. It was the first time I have played this course and would play it again. It was a great value for the price.
This course needs new management.
Being a "muni" is no excuse for the excessive pitch marks on the greens (we must have repaired at least a half dozen on every green), the noisy, poorly maintained carts being driven up to edge of greens, or the incredibly slow pace of play. We didn't see a single ranger all day. Their response to my complaint was the course gets a lot of play...so does every other course in the area, but they somehow manage to stay on top of things. Too bad, it could be a nice track otherwise.
Challenging course, good layout. Well maintained.
It would have been a great day, I'm from Vegas, first time to play in this course. The course is in good condition and well maintained .Lots of trees and adulation, a big difference from the courses that I used to play. I was paired with three local guys that are very friendly,so we had fun, except for the time of play that we spent. It was more than 5hrs,ridiculously long and frustrating because of the two groups ahead of us, they are beginners and don't know the manners in golf,no consideration to other groups behind them. We called the pro shop but basically they didn't do anything, otherwise it could have been a perfect afternoon .
Great course, awful pace of play
the course is really good; hilly, interesting layout.
Our round lasted 5 hrs. and 20 minutes. No rangers pushing the pace to be found.
Real nice course
Beautiful course with great elevations. The fairways were in need of water as the ground was extremely hard. Will play it again.
Course needs a little water.
Tee boxes hard as rocks...need watering. Sand traps need more sand; under the 1st half-inch of sand is hard clay. Fairways, rough and greens all nicely maintained.
I've experienced the same lack of responsiveness on problems. I just don't think they care about golfer feedback. We also had the problem with no ranger, slow play, and an indifference towards feedback. Too many great courses in the Chicagoland area, so no need to to deal with a lack of interest among employees at this course.
