Bartlett Hills Golf Club
About
Bartlett Hills Golf Club has been a favorite Chicagoland golf destination since it first opened in 1929. To keep the layout up to modern standards, it has undergone many changes over the years but it still has the same classic character. At 6,463 yards from the back tees, this traditional layout might not be long but it still provides a fair test. Rather than distance, the golf course demands smart play and accurate shot placement thanks to narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky doglegs. You might not have many chances to use your driver but you'll definitely get some iron practice. There isn't too much trouble off of the tees at Bartlett Hills G.C. But greenside you'll be faced with nearly 30 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards come into play on seven holes, which include some forced carries.

Good "Local" course
$19 Hot Deal.
Course in good shape.
Plenty of elevation changes.
Bunkers had puddles.
Great day
Shot an 87 so that made a good course great today. Greens were in good shape and even the "rough" was not too long it was just right.
Out of the ordinary,.. I hope!!
I have played this course many times and it is one of my favorites.
Always well taken care of, always a challenge, and most of the time, always pretty fast. On this Sunday however there was an event with 3 or 4 groups of women that went off at 12:26. our group of 3 went off at about 12:46.
We quit at hole 11 at 3:48. There was a hole open between each group, which we saw as we drove in.
All of the ladies we passed smiled and waived as we went by apparently oblivious to the fact they had effectively wrecked the entire afternoon for anyone behind them.
This is the first time I have ever experienced anything like this at Bartlett, and hopefully the last. There were no Marshalls on the course at all so these groups seemed to have no idea of pace.
At one point the group we were behind took an hour and five minutes to play a par 4 and a par 3 and after teeing off on the next par 4, stopped the cart girl for 10 minutes in the fairway.
I know this is a public course and open to all comers, but little on course regulating would go a long way.
Good Round
I've played this course off and on for the last forty years. I've never seen the course in as good shape as it is this year. Tied my best round of the year with an 89. The staff was very friendly. Will be back again soon.
The fairways and greens are in great shape
A very challenging course. Not very long from the tips, however most fairways are tree-lined. If your tee shot is a bit off, you will find yourself punching out. The greens were rather large and considerably fast. put your approach shot close to avoid 3-putts.
This course exceeded all my expectations
Out of 20 or so different courses I played while working in the Chicago area this was the greatest and most fun I played! WE got paired with a father and son that were cool and laid back just like us. Everybody had a great sense of humor and even though it got stacked up at times we played through it and everyone on the course seemed like they were having fun. Which is very rare. I play all over the US and abroad and this course ranks among the best. The only thing I regret is that I didn't find it until the day before I was scheduled to leave. I loved this course. The only thing that I wish they offered that I noticed they didn't was that they need to let the cart girls offer sandwiches or hot dogs or something besides just chips and crackers. Overall great course though.
Nice Course
Hilly course that plays longer than the yardage on the card. Back nine plays tougher than the front, but you need to drive it straight here. A fun and challenging course that I will definitely go back to.
review of course
I thought the course was well manicured.very good shape.some of the rough around the greens were
Thick.the fairways were excellent.
Thanks jeff
Wide open
Very nice course, surroundings are great. This course has wide open fairways, which is great for me. Not an overly long course but very hilly which makes the shorter holes play longer. If you have yet to play here I would recommend it.
hilly sporty course
Course was in excellent condition.Greens were in great shape. No winter destruction.Fairways were cut short and they were firm.Wish they would upgrade their carts. No gps and not a lot of yardage markers.Overall a very enjoyable day.
Greens were excellent - Loved the hilly course
Very nicely maintained course with interesting holes throughout. I liked the front 9 a little more than the back. The greens were beautiful and that alone made this course stand out. It's a pretty short course, but it's tree-lined holes can be difficult if you're not hitting it straight. Also, you'll have plenty of non-flat lies which is also something that makes the course play more difficult than most midwestern courses. The only big criticism I have was it's pretty tough to find the entrance to the golf course. For some reason, they have a big sign on Rt. 59 that makes it look like the entrance to the golf course. I can attest that it is not.
Tree lined but Playable
Plenty of trees but fairways open up to give you an out. Good condition definitely will play it more often.
Better than expected
My experience at Bartlett Hills turned out a lot better than I expected. I had an 11am tee time on a Saturday with excellent weather and the course was not backed up. And yes, there are "hills" at Bartlett Hills that you will end up going up and down over while playing.
The course is fairly open and only a few forced carries exist. The greens were in very good shape as were the fairways. While the greens were not as fast as the best courses in the area, the ball did seem to roll out a ways when chipping.
The tee boxes were generally good, only a few were beveled.
Due to the set-up of the course (OB and narrowness of some of the longer holes) and the fact it is not that long (the back tees are around 6450), a long iron or fairway wood off the tees will keep you out of trouble.
GPS needed
GPS is needed would be top course if had it. It has potential for top course
Great round for a steal!
I was able to get a hot deal rate of 20$, the course was in wonderful condition especially the greens.
a good challenge for the price
very well taken care of. Friendly staff. Overall great experience.
Beautiful golf course in great condition!
Played here with a group of friends and found Bartlett Hills to be in fantastic condition! Some courses have had MAJOR issues with winter kill but we didn't find that here. Greens were exceptional as well as the fairways. Pace was pretty good for such a busy day.
an enjoyable day
Thought the greens were in excellent shape considering the time of year
Very good condition for October
Played on a crisp October morning. Pace of play was excellent. Course was in good condition, the fairways had been aerated. The greens were true and fast.
Beautiful cozy golf course.
Beautiful course. I love this one. I will take my bodies there. Again beautiful.
