Fun little muni course
Fun course to play and pretty easy to score well. Only 5500 yds from the blue tees so get some very short par 4’s. Can drive the greens on some. There was a 200 yd par 3 and 595 yd par 5 so some longer holes too. Proximity to down town Chicago is its biggest draw. Course is pretty well kept for being a muni course.
It’s fenced off but you are in the middle of a neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. We were fortunate enough to get to witness a high speed chase and a couple of crack deals being made. While entertaining, it can be a bit distracting, primarily on holes 2-5. After that you don’t really see/hear much from the streets.
Great value!
Jackson Park is a beautiful old course that is in pretty good condition considering the traffic it gets, and the fact that it’s a Chicago Parks District course. The greens are relatively fast and have decent slope. On the negative, the sand traps are essentially dirt and the tee boxes are in rough shape. All that said, the course is fun and the perfect challenge if you’re in the 20-30 handicap range. They also have a kitchen that makes fresh breakfast sandwiches on the weekend that are excellent. I think a knock would be that there aren’t really any bathroom facilities on the course, which as a guy is not a big deal, but do feel bad for the female golfers who choose to play it.
Personally I enjoy the overall vibe of the course and think it is a bargain compared to other similarly priced courses around the city (looking at you, Indian Boundary), that don’t have nearly the same level of charm and character.
Thank you so much for your review. We value your feedback and hope to see you back again soon!
Old Trustee
If you live in Chicago, this should be your tune up course. Love it, feels like home. Just need some sand in the bunkers and a lot more upkeep. Billy Casper Golf is terrible, it’s a shame because Marovitz gets way different treatment and actual sand. I hope they really get this course redesign done with Tiger.
Fun to play
5 par 3’s make it harder than you think

Tried to cxl
Didn't play.
I tried to cancel yesterday and because it told me to go to online, and the number they gave me the exact samething to do.
So I have cxld my charge.
Deceptive hot deal
The hot deal had a cart on the deal just like all other hot deals that include a cart. However, when we got there, they said the cart was not included. We had to pay more money for a cart. We called Golf now and was told the female manger was on a long call, andthe male who we were talking to couldn’t tie up the line, so we had to hang up. We paid the extra because we drove to far to not play. This was unfair to the four of us. We should get a refund for the extra we paid for a cart. Also, Golfnow should not put a cart there for Jackson Park G c. That is deceptive.
Great Bang for Your Buck
Nothing to write home about, but for the price your paying it's a solid deal. Super close for those living in the city and wanting to get a greatly priced round in.
Pretty Impressed on my first visit
For the money I'm not sure you can beat this place for 18 in the city. The grounds and greens were very well maintained (7.5-8/10) and in general it's a fairly beautiful and serene course. cart rental is a little pricey, but other than that I can't really complain about Jackson Park at all.
Fridays there was an attendant who sold water, drinks and snacks. I played on a Wednesday and this service was not available. Should be available everyday.
