About
Fox Run Golf Links opened in 1984 but over the past two years the course underwent a major renovation that made the layout both more challenging for serious players but also more forgiving for the recreational golfer. The multi-million-dollar renovation included enhancements to the hole layouts, redesigning the bunkers, installing a new irrigation system, and creating new practice and chipping areas. Water comes into play often throughout the golf course and you'll find elevation changes on nearly every green. The water holes will be especially tough if you have a tendency to slice the ball. Thanks to the varied layout, which includes some holes that are wide open and others that are more target-style golf, you will get the opportunity to work on different types of shots. Fox Run Golf Links is a challenging but fair test that players of all skill levels can enjoy.

Love the layout
We always enjoy playing Fox Run. Challenging yet fair. Good pace on quick greens.
Good value, slow round
Conditions were fine, considering the season. Decent layout, enough variety. Play was slow for a Monday morning in March, seemed to be a seniors league going on? May have been bad luck but would avoid if looking for a quick weekday round.
first time
First time at course. Given that we are early in season course was in good (not great) condition, the biggest downside were no rakes in bunkers. Staff (front desk and starter) was very friendly. Will play this course again.
February bonus
The fact that it’s February in Chicago , I couldn’t expect the course to be in any shape. There were a lot of dirt patches. I expected brown and dried out due to winter. Just too much dirt areas. But still a bonus to be golfing in February with 62° weather
Tight and fairway bunkers make it tighter
This is a very nice well unkept facility especially this late. No range. They have one close but it’s offsite. If they had a range I’d give it a 5. I feel the fairway bunkers are unfair because of yardage placement and the way they jut into already narrow fairways, but overall a very nice course.

Nice Course, tough greens
Fox Run was in good shape but fairways were a bit muddy. The greens were very fast and at times tough to read. The course isn't very long but there's a lot of water hazards, which makes it important to keep the ball on the fairway.
