Fox Lake Country Club

Beautiful course well maintained nice changes in elevation. Pin placement was challenging as the greens are tough to handle on some of the holes. Only improvement would be to add more sand to some of the traps. Very friendly staff and Laura makes sure the course is well run!

Booked this the night before. Second time I've played here. No driving range is my only overall knock on this place. Sunday pin placement was something...a lot harder than during the week. I'd play again. Good for during the week for a quick round.

Front 9 played slow. The slow group only played 9 I’m assuming so back 9 went well. Greens were firm. For only $65 it was a good day.

Been here twice, solo and in a group, will not be back!! With zero exaggeration Fox Lake ‘country club’ is the lousiest business I’ve ever come across. The same person running the proshop is the same who bartends there, so if you’re trying to check in after a group is trying to wet their whistle after 18, you’ll have to wait 8 minutes at the desk. They have no market adjusted rates, so if you feel like paying up you’ll be looking at either a 4.5 or 5.5 hour round on a Friday. At that rate, hopefully you enjoy 75% blind shots from all the sloping fairways. I do really like their greens and the front-skirts on them. Good speed too! They don’t have a ranger to enforce pace, but he’ll stop golfers to inspect under their cart seat to confirm they’re not messing with the speed governor??? Out of respect for the young lady, I won’t mention the cart girl situation. After a prolonged round, you’ll be greeted in the parking lot by a chain smoking, power hungry employee, claiming she owned the course? To get out of her parking lot because you took the golf cart off the cart path. Absolutely unreal experience from a course who has apparently been closed for 4 years and HARDLY gets any golfers

Course is always in great shape. Staff is always friendly!!!

First time playing Fox Lake and it was like “everyday man’s” country club golf with no frills. Very hilly, few flat holes and great mix of short & long holes. Greens were smooth but people here clearly don’t fix ball marks. Best kept secret in Lake county

Great course, lots of fun and some really wide open fairways. Even after almost two hours of heavy rain the course was still completely playable. Had a great time and will definitely be playing here again.

Staff yelled at our group for being to slow despite nobody being behind us. Pleaded that we skip a hole because they were about to green it. After picking up our balls, they didn’t come for another 10 minutes. As we are walking out a staff, member stopped us and told us that most places would kick us out for being too slow despite the fact that no owner/staff member has ever said these things to anyone in our group before, till now. Extremely unwelcoming/unfriendly to newer players

My opinion... this course is always in great shape. Staff are all very nice and friendly. A little back up this time, but not too bad.

Good value. Holes are not tight. Not just runway style fairways. Ok for average golfers.

Great course. Conditions continue to increase. Greens are awesome and pace of play is great.
