Underrated Gem
First time playing Fox Lake and it was like “everyday man’s” country club golf with no frills. Very hilly, few flat holes and great mix of short & long holes. Greens were smooth but people here clearly don’t fix ball marks. Best kept secret in Lake county
Fun
Fun course. Mom and Pop golf operations with a friendly staff.
Rain didn’t stop us
Great course, lots of fun and some really wide open fairways. Even after almost two hours of heavy rain the course was still completely playable. Had a great time and will definitely be playing here again.
Extremely rude staff
Staff yelled at our group for being to slow despite nobody being behind us. Pleaded that we skip a hole because they were about to green it. After picking up our balls, they didn’t come for another 10 minutes. As we are walking out a staff, member stopped us and told us that most places would kick us out for being too slow despite the fact that no owner/staff member has ever said these things to anyone in our group before, till now. Extremely unwelcoming/unfriendly to newer players
Course is airways in great shape
My opinion... this course is always in great shape. Staff are all very nice and friendly. A little back up this time, but not too bad.
Challenging and pretty
Good value. Holes are not tight. Not just runway style fairways. Ok for average golfers.

Great course. Conditions continue to increase. Greens are awesome and pace of play is great.
Tight and fast greens
Everything is overly tight and the greens make it impossible to care. Not a fun place to play a 5.5 hour round in 95 degrees

Nice course
Nice course but not for $57 on a weekday. Saw a hot deal for around $45 dollars a little later in the day but wanted to play early. Didn't think it was going to be that high. There were about 10 cars in the parking lot when I arrived. Turns out, they were all the workers cars. So the course taken care of. $45 is about what I would normally expect to pay at a course like this. But that's just my opinion. Overall, I did enjoy playing there, but I'd only do the hot deal rate.
