Sand traps
Sam trips, cement, two greens were in poor shape. Layout of the course is fantastic. It’ll be a shame to see that go.
Value for the Money
Course is a bit run down, due to uncertainty of the future I guess. The is the open question of will they shutdown, and when. Rumors of a warehouse terminal to go there.
Maybe in the summer
6-hour round, backed up tee times, greens banged up, standing water throughout, no liquor license = no liquid coping with the rest. Maybe management will be better and course will be dry by August
Have played Calumet before. Love the layout. Wonderful old course, not the greatest conditions, but fair. My gripes are the typical issues: people playing the wrong tees for their respective skill level , no rangers, poor golf etiquette, staff friendliness. Fall golf in the Midwest!!! I’ll keep coming back as long as it’s open, in spite of the issues. Hopefully, it can be restored to its true glory.
Great course but fall season hampered play.
Like this course but unfortunately there were leaves every where. Balls were hard to find if found at all.
Still a gem, sad to see it may be going away
Course was in great late season condition. Look forward to playing this again 2023 if they will remain open
Great Layout for a Goid Price
Great Donald Ross layout. Bunkers are I. Bad shape and the 9th green is in a world of hurt. Still for the price charged, the course is in good shape and Donald Ross peaks through at times. Most greens were good. I would say a little better than muni greens. If you can get a good price, go for it. Staff is good as well. Note weekends can be tough because of a lack of carts.
