Played the Red course with my buddy. Fairways in great condition. Greens were playing true. Only problem was bunkers were rock hard dirt. We decided we were not going to hit out of them. Would have given a 5 star if not for the bunkers. Staff was awesome and their personalities were off the chain funny.
Cart pathways need lots of work, signage for holes needs to be improved , geese a big problem
Pleasant surprise
Course is very good shape for the middle of summer. Pace of play was great taking only 2:55 for two of us to play. Perhaps not the most challenging course in area but narrow fairways and guardian bunkers ad to the challenge. Had a good time.
Meh
I don’t really understand this course having anywhere near four stars. It’s condition was barely passable. Did not look at all well kept up. Some tee boxes lacked signage or even tee markers. Greens were in rough shape as well.
The layout of the White course is monotonous. If you enjoy 6 straight par fours on both nines, two rather long par 3s, with mostly unimaginative hole designs, then you may appreciate it. But, I definitely didn’t.
For the price, you can do a LOT better in the Chicagoland area.
Fairways and Greens OK, Rest of the course bone-breaker!
I purchased a tee time on the White Course but I was asked to play the Red course because they had an outing on the White course! I had played both courses a few times nearly 20 years ago. At that time both courses were well-maintained. Today, they are still taking care of the fairways and greens. However, the very little cart path they have is completely ruined. The rough is cut closer than the area surrounding the greens! There are numerous "pot holes" on the rough that you cannot avoid because they are not visible if you are riding. to play this course, it is better to walk to avoid your vertebral column being rearranged. The bunkers are rock hard and have little to no sand. Weeds are growing plenty in most of the bunkers. NO, I will not recommend the Red course to seniors who plan to ride. I might try again to play the White course ??
Very nice day
Was all good very happy with all.
Will golf here again**********
good course for improvement
tee boxes fairways and greens in great shape. bunkers had water even though no rain for several days. half of the course rough had been cut. difficult to find balls where no mowing. pace of play was average. carts are old style, no windscreen or bag covers. no water on the course and narrow fairways make it a good alternative to the driving range. reasonable pricing
cancellation
i had one person in our group that had to tend to a family member with health issues, so they cancelled the day before. i tried to change our group to 2 people but was not able to online . i also tried to call golf pass but they say you can only do it on line . so i was out 60$. in the future i will only call over the phone and book with person in the pro shop to book tee times. lesson learned . once they have you money you wont get it back
GLENEAGLES
IVE NEVER PLAYED A LONGER ROUND, WAITED AT LEAST 5 MINUTES ON EVERY SHOT, ALL BUNKERS WERE UNPLAYABLE AND FILLED WITH WATER, WHEN I TOLD THE RANGER ABOUT THE PACE OF PLAY HE SAID ITS THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND, DEAL WITH IT. WONT BE GOING BACK THERE ANYTIME SOON.
5 hour round
Teed off at 635am and didn't finish until 1115. Ranger said 4.5 hours is a good pace. Like h3ll it is. I won't be back. They used to push pace to allow for a good rhythm and 3.5 hours all day. It's been 5+ hours every time this year.
SLOW & TALL ROUGH/LONG FRINGE
Course backed up a few holes finished 18 in 5 hours- fringe was longer than fairway grass about 3 inches long some divots in tee boxes and long grass in tee boxes
Dew Sweeping on a Sunday
Was the first tee time off at 5:20am. I was surprised that every green had been mowed before getting to it. I expected to have half cut and half not since they have 36 holes to take care of. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in great shape and were receptive. Greens were rolling about a 9-10 but above the hole they could seem more like 13. The bunkers had a great consistency of sand but unfortunately they were not maintained/raked when I got to them (maybe they did them that day but not by the time I got to them). I played rake and place in the bunker and it was fine. Pro shop staff, Marshall, and grounds crew members were all very friendly. Had a great time and made it around 18 in 2.5 hours as a single in a cart. Will return and recommend playing super early if you can.
