Old Orchard Country Club

First off the rough was very tall grass. This cutting was overdue for at least a week to 2 weeks. Even the tee boxes were in very poor condition, they need to be cut as well. This course needs a lot of maintenance. Pace of play was great the first three holes when a twosome showed up out of nowhere. From there things were all downhill for the rest of the front 9. When we approached the 10th tee there was a totally different foursome in front of us. And of course there was not a single ranger on the entire course. I was told by the manager that he sent the ranger to lunch when I confronted him about this. During the rest of the play of the back nine there was no ranger in sight. When you play the 18th hole good luck finding your ball on The fairway due to range balls all over the 18th fairway. With all said and done any of your shots that were not on The fairway it was very hard to retrieve your ball. Due to how tall and thick the rough was. Also there are so many parallel fairways. Balls were flying in every direction. This course is not worth the money or your time. It's a no wonder why they're parking lot was half empty on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

The staff here are very friendly. The problem I had was there was not a starter when I went out, the pro shop told me I could go early, no one was in front and no there was going to be a twosome behind me. On hole 4 two older ladies just jump in front of me and the group in front of me. When I got to hole 6 the group in front of me told me to play through since those ladies slowed them down. Finally on hole 9 the two older ladies wave me through. Once I got to hole 10, an older couple started off the back 9 and made my back 9 so miserable. I won’t be back to this course. Both of these groups just looked at me and had no regards for jumping on the course and slowing play.

The course overall was in good condition and the greens were nice. The tee boxes were horrible. Needs lots of work. It was like teeing out of the rough. Every hole the tee box was terrible. Cut it shorter. No ranger, slow pace. Would not golf again until the tee box area issue is resolved.

The course looked like it was in dire need of a haircut. Tee boxes were shaggy, the fairway needed a trim, and the rough made it tough to see balls that were only a few feet off of the fairway. I usually enjoy playing this course, but the course conditions (on a perfect day I might add) made it tougher than it needed to be for no reason.

This was my first time playing here. I’ve always heard the conditions were fantastic. The greens were excellent, the rest of the course was so so. The bunkers were spotty. The tees were long in some spots and patchy in others. The fairways were a little long but they were fine. The layout is very tight! The rough was very lush and extremely challenging. The mixture of holes is fine. Would I play here again? Probably. Would I rush to get back here? No, especially when there a lot of good courses in the area.

I had a father's dsy reservation at 6:40 am. I thought this would be early enough to avoid the yahoos. Wrong. Pace of play at 25 minutes a hole, and the foursome behind us BLARING METALLICA on every tee box. Most over priced course in the Chicago area . Embarrassing for the money they charge . Tee boxes were in awful shape . Fairways not the best either . Greens very slow . Staff very friendly though . Fun easy course to play but not worth the money by any means .

The course was complete booked likely over booked. A good day for the course but not a very enjoyable experience for golfers. They didn't seem to have anyone to keep players on pace after nine so people were stopped for food drinks and not letting groups behind them play through. When we got to the turn there were four groups waiting to tee off.

Two words, goat farm. Tee boxes and fairways are more like rough. Looks like the course hasn't been cut in a week. Slowest greens I've played all year. If I had to guess, stimped at 6 or 7. Absolute garbage for $40 for twilight. Save your money and go elsewhere. Inconsiderate players littering cigars, in tee shirts and jorts taking 7 shots to reach the green. No beverage cart. Joke course.

OOCC was in worse condition than any course I have ever played. In order, No starter, tee boxes were a mess without being to find level ground and without a thousand divots. The rough was long, uneven and full of weeds. The greens were not kept up. The first green was full of leaves, goose droppings and ball marks as were most. The traps were not raked, like to start the day. In fact I said to my foursome it is though they did nothing to the course since it opened. I would rather play in General Iron's scrap pit!!!! I will never, ever play their again. For sure!!! We paid $50 but that was $100 too much.

I’ve played this course several times and each time it gets worse.

The pace is slow, the tee boxes are full of weeds and divots, the cart paths are a mess, the greens have longer grass than the fairways, and the price is outrageous. Very disappointed in Old Orchard and will definitely not be coming back.
