Really!
We have played Old Orchard many times over the years and it was always in great shape. Unfortunately, on this visit, the course conditions were horrendous, I can't believe they would keep a course in these conditions, especially for the dollar amount they charged, It was embarrassing. My group will never go there again. Thanks.
Having Fun
The course is in great condition. The staff very friendly and course layout excellent.
Slowest greens and fairways I have ever played
My experience was disappointing. I had heard good thing about the course and looking forward to playing it. After two holes I knew it was going to be a long day.
I have never experienced greens like this in my 40 years of playing golf. I don't know if a stimp meter would even register a 2.
The fairway was almost as bad. My friend commented he was concerned about a flyer lie from the middle of the fairway. The view from the tee box should have been my first clue as it is hard to distinguish the fairway from the rough on some holes.

Good day at the course
I have played Old Orchard many times before and am not always impressed with the pace of play or course conditions. This time, both were excellent. It is a great course when it is both maintained and managed. I will be back soon and hope I have a similar experience.
Greens need work
Used to be better, as the years went on it slowly started to go down In quality of fairways, greens, tees, and such. Spongy tees, lots of geese poop, slowest greens in the midwest chicago area thats forsure. Almost as slow of greens as a free 5 hole course near me, that should tell you all you need to know.
Solid Muni
Golf now senior rate 45.00 per player for an above average municipal track. Yes greens are slow and fuzzy but generally in good shape. Fairways and tee boxes were fine too. Pace of play 4:10 not bad. They have a beverage cart but missed the 1/2 house (maybe only open weekends?) Mark & Doug do a great job getting a lot of mileage out of this facility that is obviously in need of employees but the employees they have are great! So pack your patience and swing by OOCC for a fun round of golf at a reasonable price!
