Centennial is the one
I have played Centennial a number of times and love the variety of the wholes, It is not an easy course but it is fair. And it requires a little strategy (laying up on a number of holes). The greens are fast, and have some breaks and contours. Some of the greens have pock marks, and un-repaired divots. Overall it is a good challenge of golf and I love the course. You will, too!
fast greens
Greens were fast and rolled true, the course was in nice shape. There are 16 good holes, some doglegs, some with elevation changes, a nice layout...however, #1 is annoying with the small window to hit through on your 2nd shot - a good shot might get lost in the woods. I don't like this hole, it doesn't give you a realistic chance to go for in 2 (sometimes even 3!). #18, with the infamous ditch forces a long 2nd shot carry. Since the drive must be a 5 wood or less, the 2nd shot should not be 170+ to a green protected by severe slopes on all sides. The green should be closer, but the terrain may make that difficult to accomplish.
Nice course. Needs work
I really enjoyed my round at centennial. It's a challenging course. The two suggestions I have are the greens and especially the tee boxes need some attention or at least rotated. The second is do a better job of organizing send off. The first tee was backed up and caused very slow play. It took about 2 1/2 hours for my twosome to finish the front. A lot of potential here with beautiful scenery.
solid round
Most of the course in good shape.. some fairways died from winter.. 2 holes where badly peppered with ball marks. I will play there again. . But not one of my favorites
This course needs a lot of work but could be rally nice
We had played this course a couple yrs. ago and it was a nice course and some what challenging. Last year we were unable to play it. Yesterday we were very disappointed in the condition of both the greens and the condition of the Fairways. They have totally lost some of the fairway and the greens had some fungus, alot of bad ball marks and slick as snot. The slow play made the conditions even worse.
They would have to make some big improvements for us to come back as we drove 1 1/2 hrs to play there.
Centennial
word is your greens have been that way for years FIX THEM the rest of your coarse is awesome. besides the time management. Get a starter and a ranger that have experience. There were 5 carts at 18 when I finished I was third in line.
Poor greens for years
This could be an above-average course but it is poorly maintained - especially the greens which are spotty and marked up. Must be either on a limited budget or staffed with ill-informed personnel.
greens are in bad shape
The course is very unforgiving you hit a drive in the middle of the fairways on many holes and it would end up in the brush on the right side. Greens are in very bad shape alot of unfixed ball marks and there was quite a bit of damage to the greens
course review
course is very challenging but greens had been aerated so they were a little rough. Had a good time though.

Great Course and Value
The course was in great shape for the early season. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Overall, I could not find one thing wrong with the course. It is absolutely beautiful and has challenging and fun holes. Great course.
Overbooked the course!
The course was overbooked and we had to wait for a cart. Play was very so and what normally takes 31/2 hrs. was extended to almost 41/2 hrs. I realize its been a tough winter for golf courses but quit overbooking. I would not recommend anyone play this course for at least a month.
Nice practice areas
Challenging course that requires good shot placement or the lost balls and penalties will start to add up. Tee boxes, fairways and most of the greens in good shape. There were a handful of greens that were a bit rough. In all fairness to the course it seems they get a lot of play and more players than normal either refuse or do not know how to properly repair ball marks. The greens were on the slow side. Full practice areas available including a nice driving range, chipping green and a large multi-tiered putting green. I think the clubhouse staff were having a bad day. They were very short on information especially for our group who had never played the course before. Seemed as if we were bothering them by just being there. Nothing to stop me from coming back though.
This course has great features
This course has great feature This course has great features, everythings goooood.s, everythings gooooo.
enjoyable round of golf
greens were in good shape for the time of year. staff was very friendly.
Too Many players booked at the same time
We had to wait an hour past our tee time. There were way too many players booked at the same time and nobody from the staff made an effort to speed up play.
No1, 15, and 18 can be difficult.
No 1 requires a good drive to be in play. Being it is the first shot is not always conducive to a good result. No 18 requires more than average accuracy in both direction and length. The approach shot is across a waste area that is 165 yards or more depending on your first shot.
Course is in great condition.
The fairways and greens are in great condition. The setting is beautiful with rolling hills and trees.
Course was in decent shape, the greens need attention
I wonder if the customer base for this course understands how to repair a ball mark on the green. The greens were peppered with ball marks and some marks where never attempted to be repaired. We played in July which I understand is a tough month weather wise on courses in this area. Still repairing ball marks is indifferent to the weather. The conditions of the greens made for a disappointing day.
The fairways were clean, mowed at the appropriate height and in generally good shape. The grass on the tee boxes was a little sparse and compacted.
There are too many other courses in the area for this to be a repeat visit on my next trip to Knoxville.
