Avalon Country Club

Avalon has always been very enjoyable. Course in great shape as usual.

Great military rates, not over crowded and decent pace of play. Was slowed down a bit on the back 9, but overall a fun course to play and requires some strategy rather than just launching it all over the place. Greens are incredibly fast especially with any slight downhill play, very tricky to read. Over all a ton of fun still.

Course overall is in great shape and love playing here.

Avalon Golf Country Club was as always an outstanding venue for golf. The price paid ($39.50) for 18 holes including electric cart was spectacular. The greens were in excellent shape as well as the fairways. The elevation changes on most holes add to the challenge of each round. Four tee locations make it challenging for all golf levels.

Ranger brought out cold towels with watermelon scent on a hot day. Very appreciated.

The Course was in really good condition. The greens were the best I have seen them in some time. The issue was pace of play. This was a week day morining we finished in 4.45hrs. We were a two some and waited on every shot for a slow 4 some ahead of us. Not once did they attempt to let us play through. Help from a Ranger would have been appreciated.

Shot an 80 with a couple birdies.

It's been a while since I've had you lay up in front of the Green just to make a shot. I know it's maintenance time but that's something I would expect from knoxville, municipal, not avalon. Very strategic pen placement made the game challenging, and that was fun the speed. If you hit the green, you would roll off a little sad added 5 strokes to my game.

I grew up in this area. Members there have always been snooty and they still think it’s a time where that is one of the best courses in the area. However, it is not. Got stuck behind old members as a single with no one in front of them and they would not let me pass. Then the members that were behind me were upset and a grounds crew person saw what was happening yet no one did anything about it. I started my round at 10:45 and finished it at 2:50. There is no way that a round of golf should take more than 2.5 hours let alone four. The course is great I do like the course but members can be such a joke. And because they pay all this money to be members courses bow down and hold their tongue because they don’t wanna lose money, which is also a joke have some standards and stand by them.

Great round of golf until the thunder, lightning, and rain showed up on the 15th hole. We would like to go back and play it again while vacationing in Tennessee.

I was very surprised at the condition of the course due to the recent drought over the past month and a half. In better shape than most courses in the area, but Avalon’s downfall will always be the grass they chose for the greens. I like several other golfers absolutely cannot Zoysia greens. Be back.

Person in the pro shop wasn’t friendly . Was notified as I was checking in for my 9 am t time that the course was closing at 12 for a tournament . Wasn’t aware of that when I booked my t time . The starter was great and let me go off a little early , and our group did finish . That being said the last 4 holes we felt like we had to rush to complete our round . Fairways and greens weren’t great either . Wont be playing here next time I visit the area . Go play Centennial instead . Waaaaay better course conditions , grass driving range and the entire staff was amazing
