Great Public Course
As a public course, this is a reasonably maintained track. Improvements are continually being made. Could surely use some work on tee-boxes.
Wait until Spring
The course has great potential but clearly needs some work. They are in the middle of a renovation to the sand traps which will be a great improvement but they also need to work on weeds on the fairways and the greens need major attention. This could be a great course in the spring but I would play Avalon, Willow Creek, Rarity Ridge or TN National over this course for the next 5 months.
They also need to do something about the novice players that do not understand pace of play. There were multiple players that took way too long and did not allow us to play through. A ranger was needed.
Risk reward
This is one of the best cared for Muni courses I've ever played. The course is always in pretty good condition and the staff is very friendly. This is a risk reward course where it is very possible to lose several balls. Great fun and challenging, well worth $35 per round.
Great shape, friendly staff
I have played this course probably 3 times this year and each time has been great. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the course seems to always be in very good shape. Very good course for the money. I recommend it.
Good course
First time played and the group enjoyed it. First hole is intimidating when you don't know the course well. Not a long course, so you will keep your driver in your bag on most tees.
Challenging and well maintaned.
The course is always well maintained and challenging. The course offers 4 different tees on each hole. So you can pick your poison. There are restrooms located at various locations on the course that were well maintained and clean.
The course offers a variety of challenges, by this I mean that there are holes that require hitting a landing zone to insure that your next shot will clear any trouble that lies between you and the green. The back nine offers a wider stage for the golfer that may slice or hook, but even tho you may find your ball the lie is usually challenging. I like all that this course has to offer in the way of amenities, challenges and a friendly staff.
Just a great course
I enjoyed playing on this course. Not being a super golfer this course was fairly easy to play. challenging but rewarding. I plan to play here often.
5:45 round, marshall on-course but did not maintain *any* pace of play. several greens were significantly lost.
Where to start? Friendly guy in the clubhouse is followed by a rude marshall at first tee. Even with 8-minute spacing in tee times, we are already standing and waiting on the second tee. Golf with a cart should take < 4 hours even with a full course. The marshall failed to maintain any pace of play, and we crawled to a 5:45 round. several greens are lost, with large patches of dead/burnt grass, and sand. apparently, no one knows how to fix a divot. I fixed my own and four or five more on every green. bunkers were completely unmaintained, and resembled waste areas. if you have not played there before, there are a couple of goofy holes, especially 18.
Great golfing conditions!!
We played Centennial Golf course with an early morning tee time. The person in the pro shop was very nice and helpful. The starter was a bit overbearing and was a little in the way while we were trying to tee off of #1. He needs to stay back from the tee box and let the golfer play without his suggestions. The course was in very good condition. With several improvements that have been made in the past, this makes Centennial a very enjoyable course to play. Upon completion of the round we spoke with Brian the manager and he again made us feel very welcome and was very appreciative that we had chosen to play the course. I would go back and play again and would consider having a golf event at the golf course.
check my review
Sand traps in bad condition, not maintained, when groomed, still contain lots of nickel sized rocks.. Course does not drain well, carts must remain on path longer after rain than other courses that are not as hilly. This course is 5 min from my home, but I seldom play it for the above reasons.
