Nice course, but has issues
The Silver Lakes South Course is a great course. Not terribly long from the tips, we’ll maintained greens and fairways, and a decent layout. I do enjoy playing the course, but it has its issues. My first problem is pace of play. There is no reason a twosome should take 5 hours to finish a round. Everytime I’ve played the course it’s always a 5 hour ordeal. They have a lot of leagues running up there, but there’s no reason the leagues should slow play to a crawl every single time. The other issue I have is value for your money. It is a nice course, South is better than north, but there’s no reason they should charge 50+ for this course or any of the courses. I will play here again if I can find a reasonable Hot Deal, maybe next time pace of play will be reasonable.
Golf outing
Quite on the 7 th hole just got off the 6st hole and noticed the ranger letting a 5 some tee off in front of us, they were with a outing and then it took them 25 min in the fairway before we could tee it up! Joke! I took off work for this!!!
great course
Challenging, well kept and play moves along well. Would play again
Breezy Sunday
Really enjoy my round. My son and I finished 18 in about 4 hours. Pace was good and course was in good condition considering the amount of play it gets.
Labor Day Luck
Luckily I was able to play the first 9 without a wait on any shot. Back 9 after a 15 minute hard rain delay things slowed down but golf was still good.
Always a good experience
With Silver Lake you know exactly what you are going to get. It is usually always crowded so do not expect a quick round. It is an very good shape, the staff is friendly, and the 19th hole is nice as well.
Silver Lake - A well maintained kept course
I always enjoy playing the 3 courses at Silver Lake: North, South 18 holes courses and Rolling Hills 9 hole course. They do a very good job in general in maintaining the courses. The very hot weather is the hinderance right now as the greens are not able to hold a drive due to the hot and humid weather. Most sand traps are playable, with a few somewhat hard and lacking soft sand. The course always has its challenges with plenty of mature trees, sand traps and water hazards. I think you will enjoy the courses they offer.
Be Warned
All of the tee times available, including the one I booked, were listed as cart included. Upon checking in at the clubhouse, they tried to demand that each of us pay an additional $15 each for a cart. They eventually gave in when I showed them my booking confirmation that explicitly stated, "This rate includes a cart." Despite giving in, the staff member felt it necessary to add, "I don't like this and I still think you're wrong."
$50 to get told off by a guy clearly in the wrong, then play a course full of burnt out spots and standing water. Uninteresting and uninspired course design, which we had plenty of time to appreciate as we waited for extended periods almost every stroke (group ahead was struggling and unwilling to let us play through, but it's also not their fault that the course books the tee times too close together).
Good day.
Our group 12- 13 golfers, all finished in 4 1/2 hours. On a packed course. Course in good shape. Greens were in good shape. Staff was friendly.
Fair course overall
PROS: The course condition are very good for the amount of play at this facility.
Facility is well maintenced.
CONS: Had to wait 30min past tee time because the course was packed due to 2 outings and a kids league (the place was insane).
Didn’t see 1 beverage cart, nor were there any water coolers (it was 90 with 100% humidity).
Course layout is very boring, some holes are identical.
Great Value
Excellent value for the SW suburbs.. Nice course- no one hassles you Highly recommend
South Suburban Gem
Course is in great shape and plays well.
Staff is awesome. Club house is great after a round of golf
Place to play
Two great courses, great staff and facility. Need to get their rangers to speed up slow groups instead of just sitting in carts watching. Pace of play would improve greatly.
Horrible
Course let a fifth person go out with my foursome. Someone I did not know. I booked the foursome. I was not asked if I was ok with fifth person. Than course staff proceeded to Hassel for slow play when people behind us were about a half a hole behind us. Completely ruined my once a week time to enjoy. I would never recommend this course to anyone. The staff is incompetent. Will never play again.
Silver lake north course il.
Was reservation 14.45.1 hour before arrived asking cart key ,they asking range ball? My answer not today, and they say then come back 14.30 I was comeback 14.26.they say comeback 4min later.and I was go outside, that time another golfer heard that.He say don't understand.why ? They make a lot money? Just 4 min earlier? After that I played 9 hole and prepare start back 9.but 5 player front of me.3 walk 2 riding. I ' m asking the starter they 5 player together.but starter say was 4 and another 1 together ,just small league. After that of course they slow player and behind us line up.may be some group they can't finish before sunset.it's terrible day.may be they think come by Golf now? I don't want a recognize this club
We got rained out and they gave us a coupon for another round.
