Course is in great shape and plays well.
Staff is awesome. Club house is great after a round of golf
Place to play
Two great courses, great staff and facility. Need to get their rangers to speed up slow groups instead of just sitting in carts watching. Pace of play would improve greatly.
Horrible
Course let a fifth person go out with my foursome. Someone I did not know. I booked the foursome. I was not asked if I was ok with fifth person. Than course staff proceeded to Hassel for slow play when people behind us were about a half a hole behind us. Completely ruined my once a week time to enjoy. I would never recommend this course to anyone. The staff is incompetent. Will never play again.
Silver lake north course il.
Was reservation 14.45.1 hour before arrived asking cart key ,they asking range ball? My answer not today, and they say then come back 14.30 I was comeback 14.26.they say comeback 4min later.and I was go outside, that time another golfer heard that.He say don't understand.why ? They make a lot money? Just 4 min earlier? After that I played 9 hole and prepare start back 9.but 5 player front of me.3 walk 2 riding. I ' m asking the starter they 5 player together.but starter say was 4 and another 1 together ,just small league. After that of course they slow player and behind us line up.may be some group they can't finish before sunset.it's terrible day.may be they think come by Golf now? I don't want a recognize this club
We got rained out and they gave us a coupon for another round.
Outstanding course for the money
Great value outstanding amnenties. Always love playing either of the two courses. Free bottled water from the starter and the very nice cart girl asked us about 5 time if we needed drinks that's awesome service. Had a slow threesome in front of us but that's in them not the course. I would always recommend silver lake.
Dead tree removal needed.
The only issue I have with this course is the amount of dead trees and tree limbs that have not been removed throughout the course. The first par 3 had two dead trees on the tee box with dead limbs hanging over the tee box. If those limbs were to fall with a golfer under it there would be a major lawsuit. The grounds crew at least needs to be instructed to remove at least the dead limbs that can hurt someone.
Perfect afternoon of golf
Silver Lake is great facility with three different courses. I have played both North and Rolling Hills in the past, but today played the South course during twilight.
They had a large outing that ended around 2:30pm, so there were a lot of golfers waiting to get onto the course for the afternoon. Their pro shop staff moved the line REALLY quickly, helping at least 20 people in the 7 or 8 minutes that I waited to be helped.
Once out on the course, it was busy, so we didn't raced through our 18, but it stayed steady, rangers were out making sure that the foursomes were moving and we played in about 4.5 hours.
The fairways, tee boxes, greens and sand traps were all well taken care of. Many greens are quite large and have some interesting undulations. They were relatively easy to read, however, and speeds were consistent.
They have a few holes that are unique, but all were quite playable.
We had a great time (perfect weather - 70 degrees and sunny) and enjoyed our round. Thanks to Silver Lake and Staff!
Great shape
Silver Lake South in great shape. Played on 3 hours and 45 minutes. Great round!!
Slow pace
Great facility and course. Pace of play was bad although it was Sunday
Good value
Course was crowded so played slowly but in nice shape. Bunkers in good shape as well. Halfway house was open and fully stocked. Would play again under a hot deal and hope for better pace.
