Golf Advisor: Top 25 Short Courses in the U.S. (2023 #15)
Reviews
Nice course
Great course. They didn’t follow up the Illinois rules. They did have few groups of four playing. I didn’t like that. Therefore I won’t be back.
Nice little course
Pretty course. A little short. Never took driver out of bag which was disappointing. Trade off was that it was a nice challenging par 3 with pretty ambiance. Holes were a little tricky to find. Very wet conditions in spots that you would think wouldn’t be. Greens were in good shape. Nice little challenging par 3. Just wish it was longer.
nice course
played at a discounted rate of $21 to ride with all fees included. Not sure that I'd play any of the courses at Silver Lakes at their regular rates as I think they're way overpriced
Really enjoyed it.
The scenery is what captured my attention. The course layout is what kept me returning.
Fun course
It was great for us beginners but, play we were always waiting people in front a little slow.
Rollin hills
Nice course with very open holes, only problem is there are no cart paths so sometime figuring out where to go is hard.
Very nice course but very slow pace. Followed many elderly groups.
Rolling Hills - A fine 9-hole course to play
It was a hot and very humid day. Course conditions were excellent. The set up of this course is always a bit of a challenge as the holes vary in set up. There are some small water hazards, but you can still fine them somehow as they are hidden from the tee. The greens are large and well cut. You still use your driver on a couple holes but the irons get most of the work load. There is sand in sand traps, which many courses are not providing, so you can get out of the traps. Thanks for the excellent course conditions.
Rolling Hills - 9 Hole Par 3
The course has its challenges with water, trees, elevated greens and hitting downhill on an angle. It is a very nice 9 hole par 3 course to work on your iron game. The greens are in excellent condition. I recommend this course.
Nice course, will return!
My son and I went on a wet, soggy Sunday morning. Wanted to do a quick 9. We were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the course despite heavy rain all day Saturday. Greens were difficult because of the slope and rain. Fairways were in great shape. Not much rough to speak of as if you did not hit the fairway, you were most likely in the woods. I was most of the day, which was fine. I had a tough time finding my stroke. Long front 9 on the North/Rolling Hills course. Par 38. Back looked shorter according to the scorecard. We played front. Looking forward to returning in the spring to play 18.
Overbooked tee times
Been golfing here for 15 years now, but might not ever go back. If you decide to go on a Saturday or Sunday, expect there to be a 20-25 minute wait at every single tee box. (not exaggerating). Management needs to do a better job regulating tee times and who is on their course. I was on the 6th green when the group behind me started harassing us and started driving their balls at me yelling "were gonna knock you out". absolutely pathetic to be treated like this on a golf course. Had to leave after the sixth hole after over paying to begin with.
exelent course
my first time playing this course, & looking forward to play again
Nice Short Game Course
Enjoyed the course. Nice way to assess ones short game skills.
Glad to hear it! Thank you for your 5 Star review, Jerome! Hope to see you soon.
Went home after 3rd hole
I've played this course several times and it takes 50-90 minutes to play. It's a well laid out 9 hole course. Kept in ok to good condition.
This past experience was horrible. Took 75 minutes to get through 3 holes and I left. Pace of play of 25 minutes per hole on a par 29 is horrible.
