Hot and humid, but Palatine Hills Staff was on Top of their game!
Played at 12:00 on one of the hottest and most humid days of summer. Palatine Hills staff had water available every couple of holes and the rangers were constantly driving around with a jug of ice water! Huge appreciation in very draining conditions.
We had a lot of rain the night before. Palatine Hills does not take rain well. A lot of wet areas in rough and fairways. No ones fault, just a fact. Greens, fairways and tees were lush. Bunkers were the best I’ve seen in northwest suburbs all summer. Thanx again to the Palatine Hills staff for the hard work they are putting in to keep course in great shape!

Fairway are in good condition, Green are challenging and nice layout

Good Course, Poor Customer Service
First of all, the course was very nice and I would recommend it. But I had a strange and frustrating end to my round. I booked 18 holes for a twosome, tee time at 2:50 on July 5. Front nine was slow because of a pretty slow foursome in front of us. Course opened up on the back 9 and we played a quicker pace. We were approached on the 17th green just after 7pm and were told we needed to leave immediately because the course was closed (?!?!), despite the fact that we were not done with the 18 hole round we paid for. Apparently they close early for the 4th of July Holiday weekend. We were not told this. Receipt said 18 hole twilight rate, which generally always means play 18 holes or at least until twilight... and we were kicked out 1.5 hours before sunset. So that was frustrating, to say the least. The employee ultimately apologized as we passed the clubhouse, saying the situation with the holiday weekend was not normal. But kicking people off the course on a summer evening mid-round is unacceptable. Probably won't be returning to this course.

One of my favorites
What can I say? I love this course. The layout is challenging enough for average to above average golfers. This course is meticulously maintained. Greens are challenging but fair. Fairways are wide, but not too wide. Staff is awesome! Friendly , helpful and always ensuring that your round is going well. Best sand bunkers in NE Illinois!.
Today was my second time playing Palatine Hills, I can't wait for my next opportunity.

Slow Play
There were at least 3 foursomes that should not have been on the course. The pace of play was very slow.

good test of golf
should have a higher slope rating - certainly not easy - good practice area and range - greens in great shape - will definitely be back to GET EVEN!

A Hidden Gem
Really enjoyed the course. We arrived early and they let us play early. Sand bunkers were fine. Greens were true.
My wife played from the Gold tees. They were a little long for her, but she felt the course was fair.
