Pace of play
For a nine hole course way worth the money

Course is challenging and tight
Would only play agIn on a hot deal
Golf
First time at this course. Pace of play started out great. On the last few holes it got jammed up pretty bad. Especially on the 9th hole. All in all I would play there again because the location is close to my home. I wouldn't drive out of my way to play here. Prefer 18 holes but not a bad 9 hole course.
Tough 9 hole test
Never played here before but heard some descent reviews from other guys I have played with before. Went on a nice Monday afternoon since Golf Now showed they had a bunch of open tee times.
Pros: When most people here about a 9 hole course, they assume it will be an easy, short, straightforward course. Not so with this one. This one is a tough shot making test that will challenge you off the tee as well as with your shots into the greens. This most certainly is not a course for beginners. Water hazards come into play on nearly every hole. It makes for some scenic holes but can also cause your score to balloon very quickly. The greens have subtle breaks in them that are not apparent at first glance. It was an easy walk with short distances from greens to tees. It was also very easy to figure out where the next hole was even for a first time player.
Cons: Pace of play sucked...bad. For it looking like tee times were available all afternoon, the course backed up very quickly. I was a single walker and I ended up pairing up with the walker in front of me. The back log became so bad that the two singles behind us caught up and we made our own foursome. The twosome in front of us became so frustrated with pace of play that they just left after the 5th hole. There were no course employees anywhere to be seen. Two of the members I played with said this had been common so far this year. My round was 2.5 hours for 9 holes. Another player told me that on the weekend, it had taken him over 3 hours to play 9. I understand that the course is tough and there are hazards aplenty but that's just bad. My only other problem with this course is that the scorecard shows yardages for multiple sets of tees. There were only tee markers for 2 sets, white and red. With it being my first time playing, I didn't know if this is an anomaly or a regular occurrence. No warmup area and the first hole is no joke. Hopefully your playing partners are good with breakfast balls.
Verdict: Worth giving a chance even if the pace of play may be brutal. The members I played with were very welcoming and helpful so don't be scared to try and pair up with some other players here. The employee in the pro shop was also very helpful giving me some tips on how to navigate certain holes on the course. Once I get my irons dialed in, I'll be back to give it another go and see if I can break 40 here.
Never played
Course allowed to many walk ups. Really didn't have planned tee times. They were running a half hour late. I looked and there was supposed to be many tee times still available. ?????
Mr Golfer
love the layout and the condition. upgrading the cart paths
Challenging 9 holes
The course has a number of challenging holes with hazards coming in to play on the right on most holes. The course is well maintained.
I really like this course!
It's not a PGA course but it definately challenges you.
best deal
We play here often . This is the best buy for your money I give it a 10
Pace are slow
Pace super are slow and staff are not friendly.
Streamwood Oaks
Water in play on every hole. Course is well taken care of. The staff are all great and very attentive.
postage stamp
Small everything is small. Small greens, small fairways.
was not a enjoyable round in a area full of courses would pass on this one.
Tight sandy course
The course is fun long par 4 and 5. Fun mid par 3. But all the greens have sand ... A lot of sand. The course it's self is tight and narrow. So bring your A Agne and drive straight as possible or you will hit a house, loose balls , and or hit another player on the course. Cheap rates good if you need a last minute course to play. Also no driving range or practice putting greens at this course
challenging 9 holes
have played here before and enjoy the course . great 9 hole layout . lots of water in play , but smart shots will keep score low.
Needs Better Mangement
This is a really tough nine hole course that deserves better manangement.Extremely slow play(2and a half plus for nine holes)One bathroom/water fountain on the course. No starter or ranger so lots of singles, twosomes etc. Pairing groups might help speed up play.Small putting green. No chipping allowed.Course is poorly marked.Need a gps.
Course is no pushover.Water, trees, and O.B. on many of the holes.Nmbr.4 and 9 will test your game.Play the tips at your own risk.
great price greater challenge
Streamwood oaks is definitely not your average 9 hole course, especially playing about 3400 from the tips, the fairways are wide where needed and unforgiving when not, so for the great price and the greater challenge, this course can't be beat in the western suburbs.
lots of debries anf leaf
lots of debries anf leaf. The course conditions are deterating.
Price is right
I like this place. Nice local 9 hole course. Greens are tricky, speeds vary depending on weather. There's water everywhere, stay out of it.
Great Deal for the Money
The course was well maintained and challenging enough for the average golfer. Holes 8 and 9 are great looking. The only problem was the ranger who accused our group of driving off of the cart path when we had stayed on it the whole time then threatened to remove the keys after we explained that. Other than the very rude ranger it was a good experience.
Good course for a relaxing 9
I seem to have caught it at a bad time as behind me was wide open. In front of me was a group of 2 that you could see has not been playing golf very long, hitting driver 20yards, hitting 3 balls of the tee, etc. I can not complain much however as they were keeping up with the group in front of them and I was a single behind. The course itself is a nice decently challenging course. Had a decent wind coming at me on the longer holes which made them a bit more difficult. Good amount of water and sand make you think about your shots more carefully. But it does seem like a lot more beginners go to this course as a few other groups I saw were all over the place.
