Nice course
Challenging but fair
Lots of water hazards
Great staff especially cart girl!
Mid day weekend solo outing
Staff got me off the back instead of going off behind 5 foursomes in the front 9. Course was wet, but drained well. No cart restrictions. Greens were solid. Course layout is tough ALOT of water, and houses.
Overall B
Great Course
Midlane is always a great course, the staff is always friendly the rates are good. The course was in good shape after all the rain we have had. It's always a pleasure to play Midlane.
Poorly conditioned course.
I really liked Midlane in the past. I had played on a permanent tee time and had a membership there for 5 years. I left for Thunderhawk years ago but I come back to play this course 1-2 times per year. I was really surprised how poorly maintained this course was on Memorial Day weekend - a time when courses should be showing themselves off. Not one bunker was raked by the grounds crew, greens were not cut and much slower than other years. There were an incredible amount of weeds growing in the rough, an obvious sign of lack of upkeep. The management also let customers drive carts everywhere and during this rainy period of weather, the carts have ripped this course up a lot. My guess is that ownership is not doing well with the course or it’s hotel and banquet facilities and they just aren’t putting the money into it for the upkeep. I have always liked the layout and if the deal wasn’t good, I would not play here for full price. Sheppard,s Crook or Thunder Hawk are much better.
One of the Best Hidden Gems in Chicagoland
What more do you want? 140 slope from the tips, forced carries, small greens, wind, light rain, and low 50’s weather. Glorious.
Still great value
I’ve played Midlane a bunch and still love popping up from the north suburbs. While the course definitely could use some improved maintenance, particularly around tee boxes and the practice area, this track is challenging, interesting, and fun.
nice layout
there were no water coolers on the course and the beverage was seen twice once on the 2nd hole and once on the16th hole. when we tried to call the cart over we were ignored. I understand the rule that you need to purchase beverages from the club but that being the case either have water coolers or enough staff to accommodate your patroons. we were pretty dry after 18 holes.
Once a Gem
I played this course 2 or 3 times a week last year. It has really gone downhill under new management. Greens and Tee boxes are in horrible condition, with no seed in sight. They have had over a year to fix the flood damage, but no work is being done to repair bare spots.
I wouldn't play this course again even if it were offered free.
Please restore this course to it's original glory!
Challenging and fun layout
I really like the challenge of this course. It’s fair but tough to score.as low as you think you should. Lots of unique holes to make it very fun to play.
Great Comeback @ Midlane
Following huge floods of 2017, Midlane Golf Course has rebounded extremely well! There are some spots that you can tell the course had been damaged, but it certainly did not ruin our game at all. GREAT JOB Midlane staff!!
Lastly, Midlane's Customer Service was spectacular. All of it - from the golf shop to the beverage cart. They all went out of their way to make certain we have an enjoyable day. They all treated us like we were family and that they truly appreciated our being there. Go ahead, give it a chance. You won't be disappointed!
Not good!
Shocking! Can't believe how bad this once beautiful golf course has fallen apart. The greens are absolutely worn out and not even worth putting on. Can't play from the sand because it's like concrete. Just had to pick my ball up the couple times I landed in there. Goose poop all over the place, fairways and greens. Also, I have never seen so many divot holes on the greens at any golf course in my life!! Oh and can you please take a little time out of what must be a busy schedule and fill up the ball washers as all of them were empty! Can't recommend this course to anyone until they get out there and fix the problems even if the price was almost free. Customer service was just as bad, what a shame Midlane!
Beautiful course
Well maintained and challenging course beautiful layout I will definitely be coming back staff is very nice as well
Not what it used to be.
I have been playing at Midlane since the late 1990's and it's condition has really deteriorated. The fairways used to be lush and both the greens and sand traps were well manicured. This is no longer the case.
The maintenance of this course has really slipped and there was no grass seed available in either the carts or on tee boxes. Furthermore, there was no water available on the course.
While the course has a great layout, I will not play it again until the reviews of this course substantially improve.
Midlane is a must-play!
Played my first round back at Midlane since the historic flooding in 2017. Course is mostly recovered from last year's flooding despite the recent rains. Course was in great condition minus the usual summer stress and recent weather challenges. Facility has new carts which makes for an enjoyable round. Looking forward to seeing what the new management company does to continue to improve the course given the overall improvement since last season. I can honestly recommend Midlane as a must play golf course!
Midlane has gone DOWNHILL
This used to be a really great/fun course.
New management (Golf Visions) has take over the course this year...and it shows.
Dandelions in the fairways?
Poorly maintained tees, bunkers, fairways & greens?
Dead Ash Trees everywhere (dead for years)?
Cart paths falling apart?
No drinking water on the course at all?
Almost no merchandise in the Pro Shop?
Very unfortunate how Midlane has gone downhill.
Used to be a fun place, not now.
Nice round, nice service, soggy course
The course is a bit out of the way for me but I had been interested to try it for awhile. Not surprisingly it was pretty empty for a mid-week, mid-day round. The very small staff was nice and amenities seemed ok. I caught up with another single after a few holes and he know the course well which helped a lot. The layout is very nice although a bit on the short side. I was disappointed that the carts did not have GPS and finding yardages was not easy. The real downside was that they whole course was quite soggy and the front 9 was barely even playable. There had been quite a bit of rain in the past week but was dry the days before my round but it seems that drainage there is quite a problem. I would play again under drier conditions but not sure I would make the journey unless I was already in the area.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us with 3 stars. We always strive for a 5 star experience, so all of your feedback is appreciated. Please feel free to contact the club directly if you feel that there are specifics we can improve on. We hope to have you back at the course in the future.
