About
Bonnie Brook Golf Course, known amongst locals as simply "The Brook," is one of the most popular public courses on the North Shore. It has even been ranked as one of the top 50 public golf courses in the Chicagoland area. Designed in 1926 by James Foulis, the course has a classic feel to it with challenges that have withstood the test of time. The layout sprawls across a scenic natural landscape accented with gently rolling hills, tall native grasses, and sparkling lakes. The north branch of the Waukegan River also meanders through part of the golf course. The Bonnie Brook layout offers enough of a challenge for advanced players with narrow, tree-lined fairways and subtly tricky undulations throughout the spacious greens, but it is a round that is player friendly enough for any skill level to enjoy.

Beautiful course
I recommend this gem of a course in Waukegan for all levels of players. Twilight golfing was less expensive and absolutely the most beautiful time of day. The greens can be a little challenging but that makes it fun. Over all the course was in very good condition. Drink carts came around frequently and food was available.

Bonnie Brook Does Not Disappoint !
Great Course Conditions , Greens Rolling True and a Very Fun Layout .!! First time playing there in almost 5 years and found it just like I left it then, only the trees are taller . This is the Hidden Gem of Northern Illinois . Go Play it you won't be disappointed but glad you did.

Simple, play the Brook. Great condition, superb staff, great food to go with it. Quite simply, Bonnie Brook is the best place to play golf on the North Shore. The staff goes out of their way to make your day a pleasure. The golf course is immaculate. The price, unbeatable.

Nice Course
Played with my son at the last minute due to a tournament at our local private course. I had heard nice reports over the years and was not disappointed. Excellent mix of holes and challenges. The grooming was excellent and there are many beautiful and unique trees throughout. The “Bonnie Brook” can be quite challenging!

Fun course with several challenging holes.
Nicely maintained course. Courteous staff. Played the course for the first time two weeks ago and we just had to come back. Best value for the money course this year so far for us.

Inexpensive Escape
Great pricing for an course that is in excellent shape. Not the most challenging course out there. Lots of short par 4's. Played Whites.

Disappointed
This was my go to course for the last several years. However, this Sunday was exceptionally poor. We only played 3 holes, and a drive on the 4th in a time span of 1hr - 15min. There were 4 groups on all three holes we played, and couples with the 95 degree heat, no beverage cart visible the entire time, and we just couldn't take it anymore. No Ranger, no concern or raincheck when I stopped in to the Pro Shop to inform them of the conditions. I have played here at least every other weekend the last five years, or so... I'll miss it.

Great pace - even on a holiday
Didn’t have to wait on a single hole on 4th of July. Fairways and greens were in very good condition. Fun course! Will be back soon!!!

Gem of the north
Based on reviews that Bonnie Brook was the gem of the north, I booked a tee time to play today. Course was well laid out for the average golfer and challenging enough to for the scratch golfer. Greens were well maintained. Fast but fair. Pace of play was 4 hours for 18 holes. All staff friendly and helpful. At $51, 18 holes with golf cart is a great value.
