About
Bonnie Brook Golf Course, known amongst locals as simply "The Brook," is one of the most popular public courses on the North Shore. It has even been ranked as one of the top 50 public golf courses in the Chicagoland area. Designed in 1926 by James Foulis, the course has a classic feel to it with challenges that have withstood the test of time. The layout sprawls across a scenic natural landscape accented with gently rolling hills, tall native grasses, and sparkling lakes. The north branch of the Waukegan River also meanders through part of the golf course. The Bonnie Brook layout offers enough of a challenge for advanced players with narrow, tree-lined fairways and subtly tricky undulations throughout the spacious greens, but it is a round that is player friendly enough for any skill level to enjoy.

Easy booking online. The facility is clean and the staff is very friendly. Loved the course and its layout. I would recommend it to others.
Gem of the north
Based on reviews that Bonnie Brook was the gem of the north, I booked a tee time to play today. Course was well laid out for the average golfer and challenging enough to for the scratch golfer. Greens were well maintained. Fast but fair. Pace of play was 4 hours for 18 holes. All staff friendly and helpful. At $51, 18 holes with golf cart is a great value.

Bonnie Brook Golf Course
A nice course layout with a good price point. The course is challenging, yet allows you to make mistakes without being penalized too severely. Certain holes make you think strategically, and challenges your ability to make the right golf shot. I haven’t played the course in almost 2 years, but it is a hidden gem in the area.

Challenging Course
This is a beautiful course for all levels of players; Narrow fairways, fast greens with bunkers protecting the greens. Course is in excellent condition considering the dry weather we have had.

Forgiving & Friendly
Despite the ravines on several holes, the course is great for average players. We enjoyed the wide fairways and didn't get into much trouble with our wayward shots. Staff was very friendly, and the greens and tee boxes were well maintained. Couldn't Ask for better at this price point!

Hidden gem
Might not have all the frills of some of the bigger clubs in the area, but this is a really well kept course with a layout that forces you to play thoughtful golf. Can't wait to come back up to play again now that I have a better idea of what lines to take off the tee.

Very well maintained
There is nothing spectacular about the layout of this course, but what sets it apart from all the others is how well it's maintained. The fairways are always plush and the greens are always in perfect condition. Plus the greens-fees are very reasonable for what you get. Highly recommended...

Top of the class
once again The Brook stands at the top of the places you'd be wise to visit. From friendly cooperative staff to a grade AAA course, your day could not be more complete. Aside from some slow play on the back 9, you'll leave wanting to come back to play again.
