About
Bonnie Brook Golf Course, known amongst locals as simply "The Brook," is one of the most popular public courses on the North Shore. It has even been ranked as one of the top 50 public golf courses in the Chicagoland area. Designed in 1926 by James Foulis, the course has a classic feel to it with challenges that have withstood the test of time. The layout sprawls across a scenic natural landscape accented with gently rolling hills, tall native grasses, and sparkling lakes. The north branch of the Waukegan River also meanders through part of the golf course. The Bonnie Brook layout offers enough of a challenge for advanced players with narrow, tree-lined fairways and subtly tricky undulations throughout the spacious greens, but it is a round that is player friendly enough for any skill level to enjoy.

Very Well Maintained
Played this course in three seasons and it’s always well maintained. Layout is pretty straightforward and on the easier side. Missing the fairway rarely causes a huge problem and there is t much water to contend with. Designed for every level but studs might find it boring. Ive heard weekdays can play really slow due to who plays there, but I’ve always played at a good pace.

The best
Bonnie Brook once again showed why it's the Jewel of the North Shore. Course was in tremendous shape, staff is unparalleled in their first class approach to their clientele. Never disappointed in my visit.

Jewel of the North
Bonnie Brook once again showed why its called the Jewel of the North. Course conditions were spectacular. On a sun soaked day the Brook never looked better. Staff again was professional and friendly as usual. I'm glad I live so close, I can call it my home course with pride.

Needs a ranger
Needs a Ranger group in front of us was holding up the whole course jumped in front of them on a hole and skipped the hole called the clubhouse Ranger came out once and never saw him again should come back again and check on how play is other courses have Ranger out there all the time checking especially on a weekend

Needs a ranger the guys in front of us had the whole course backed up behind them jumped hole to get past them called Ranger came out once never saw him again

Stay below the hole
It’s in my personal local top 10. Nothing fancy about the place, and carts lack GOS. The course layout is great and requires more thought than precision, aided by having played it about a dozen times. Most greens slope significantly from back to front, so it’s usually wise to err toward the front to avoid a tricky downhill putt that can run far past the hole.

Great Value!
Bonnie Brook is a great, simple layout course. Plenty of challenges, rhe greens are in great shape, and for $30 with cart at 4pm, I got 18 holes in...cant complain at all.

Great Course
Great conditions for this time of year (early April). Has plenty of challenging holes but also has several short holes that allow you to score well.. I always find the pace of play here to be fantastic. Definitely will be back soon!
