Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

Great valu and very good course
Always in shape and fun to play. Can stretch it out to 6900 with plenty of contour on the greens. Play the correct tees and have fun!

Been playing St Andrews for years and I always enjoy coming back.
PrePay madness
You are now required to prepay your round walking only. If you want to ride you have to pay that separate at the course. So if you’re booking a foursome you need to collect from the others. Used to play quite often but only twice this year due to high rates, no senior rate, and the prepay.

Course was in real bad condition ! They had not even removed the old cups from some of the greens!
I used to play this course at least 8 to 10 times during the season few years back. Me and my brother used to love this course. It has really gone downhill in the past few years!
Ps. It could be because of the end of the season! I will play this course at least once next season just to prove myself wrong hopefully!!

Nice course
Course is in really good condition as always. We played the St. Andrews course. It is a bit tight fairways switch back and forth on each other but not to bad. Both courses are nice. I would recommend them both.

Beautiful day for golf
Had a great day yesterday at this golf club. Weather a bit chilly but course was in great shape! Pace of play was very good, got in 18 in 2.5 hours. Wonderful staff there!

Bang for buck
Nice place. Very spacious and greens were in very good shape.
Not worth it
We booked Saint Andrews on a cold day because they have covers for the carts.The staff told us there not putting the covers on this year,why have them if your not going to use them.$48.00 was a lot to pay at the end of Nov.No covers not a friendly staff and a bit expensive
