West/South at Arrowhead Golf Club
About
There are 27 holes of championship golf available at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton. The course spans over 220 beautifully wooded acres with not a home in sight. The holes are divided into three nines that can be played in different combinations. Throughout the entire golf course, water comes into play on 17 holes and there are 77 strategically placed bunkers. No matter what course you choose, you'll come across several challenges but they can all accommodate a wide range of skill levels. The West/South combination has several formidable water holes, including the seventh hole on the West, which is nearly an island green, and the South's par-3 fourth hole where you will have to carry a massive lake. In addition to the golf course, Arrowhead boasts a practice facility with a lighted range, putting and chipping greens and bunkers

Fall play
Course was in great shape considering it was Nov 6th. East course very challenging. Staff, as always, extremely polite and helpful.
Fast difficult greens
Great layout that demands good course management and accuracy. Fast, sloped greens that require concentration and deft touch. Excellent conditions all around. $78 with cart is a bargain for a course of this quality, but normal rates may be higher.
Great Course with Excellent Conditions
Great course in the Chicago area. Fun layout with excellent conditions. White fluffy sand. Greens were firm and fast. Would highly recommend!
Pleasantly surprised
This course was average at best years ago, played it for the 1st time since renovations. Very nice, make time to eat there also.
Tremendous Value
Played nearly all the public and private tracks around the Chicago land area. I would say this is in the top 3 values in the area. Played the south/east combo. Every shot in the bag comes out at some point during the round. The greens, bunkers, and the overall course condition were stellar. This is a must play course.
Best shape ever
This course is in the best shape I can remember. Greens, tees & fairways are in phenomenal shape
Excellent course
First time here and loved everything about it. Air conditioned bathrooms are great!
Conditions are great but...
Was in the Chicago area for my annual golf vacation and was really looking forward to playing this course. Had heard/read great things and the 3 of us were stoked to cap off a great trip by playing arrowhead.
Main thing was course conditions were great. Great fairways, great bunkers, lightening fast greens. Layout was fine...reminded me of a muni layout, not a ton of originality, but it was fine.
So no major complaints about the course...however they have an extremely rude cart person that harassed us for a chunk of our round. It was an older gentleman with an accent. He followed us on several holes, glaring at us, and literally stopping to watch each of our shots. When we asked him what he was doing, he just grunted and drove off, only to come back on the next hole. When we finished 18, we were unsure where to return the carts, asked this guy and he refused to help.
Absolutely no idea why this guy was acting this way.
So I can not recommend due to extreme rudeness/making us feel uncomfortable. It’s a shame because normal starter was great and course is in awesome condition.
Fun Time
South/East at Arrowhead is a great time. Some of my favorite holes are on the South course and is a great front 9 for the round. Arrowhead also has option of playing 18 holes with West/East. Believe it switches each month. Highly recommend playing at Arrowhead!
Great Municipal Course
Arrowhead is a fun time! A bit challenging and for a municipal course, is in great shape! Staff are friendly and the starter's have gotten a lot better in regards to pace of play. So far this year it has not taken over 5 hours to play a round which is impressive considering in years past how long it has taken to play an 18 hole round. Highly recommend playing Arrowhead Golf. Have played both rotations of 18 with South/East & West/East. You'll enjoy your time at Arrowhead!
October dream
Sunny, day in the high 60s, low wind, very few leaves on the ground for late October. No one was in front of us and we finished a 2:07 start at 5:25. Course was in wonderful shape, greens were FAST. Wonderful alternative to sitting and watching the Bears lose again.
Great conditions
Greens, fairways and sand traps where in perfect shape on the east and west courses....South course was closed for maintenance.
