About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Really fun round
Staff super friendly especially cart woman. Course in great shape. Old style chicago area course. Not super long but tight though super forgiving

One of the finest
The generous parking area can be accessed with the golf cart, which is very convenient. The proshop staff and the starter were more than helpful and we teed off right on time. The course was in excellent condition and the flag positioning on the nice and fast greens was fair. The layout of the course is challenging but not crazy difficult either. We enjoyed everything except the noisy private jet’s flying over us quite often

Great condition
Despite the dry weather, the course was green and very playable Fairways had the right firmness and the greens were smooth and fast.

The new fave
For the money, this is the best course in the area. It's challenging for an intermediate golfer, but not intimidating. And the course is in excellent shape.

Fantastic Fathers Day round
We really enjoyed this parkland style course. Pace of play was amazingly fast for a Fathers Day. Course was in great shape and really enjoyed the layout.

Solid course, solid price
Nice course for walking. Tough greens, some testy looks off the tee. Course is in immaculate condition, and pace was brisk on a chilly Friday morning. Fair and challenging test, highly recommended at the price.

Fun Course
Had a great time. Conditions were great. Only cons is a ranger would have been helpful, had a group in front that was hitting 40 yards a shot holding up a lot of people.
