About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Solid course, solid price
Nice course for walking. Tough greens, some testy looks off the tee. Course is in immaculate condition, and pace was brisk on a chilly Friday morning. Fair and challenging test, highly recommended at the price.

Fun Course
Had a great time. Conditions were great. Only cons is a ranger would have been helpful, had a group in front that was hitting 40 yards a shot holding up a lot of people.

Would love to try this course again. Forward tees were fair for senior players. The water hazards were not in play much except for longer hitters. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
I would make some suggestions to improve the experience.
1. The booking process. I don't mind paying a booking fee, but the extra charge taken at the time was confusing and I thought unnecessary. even though it lowered the payment at the course.
2. Rest facilities. Although there were porta potties on the course, they could have been place more conveniently, particularly at the turn.
3. Amenities. Again at the turn, I would have liked to buy a snack and something to drink.
