About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Golf review
The course was very nice. We got out a little early and played in about 90 minutes on the front and then caught up to a group and it was a couple hours for the back. It was in good shape and our group really enjoyed our round as well as the 19th hole after.
Tough, but a lot of fun!!

good course missing some essentials
i enjoyed my round of golf. great grass to play off of, a friendly starter greeting us on the first tee, and a nice GPS system in the carts! my main complaint was the lack of a concession cart, or a halfway house. would’ve been nice to have access to beverages in the middle of my round. they didn’t even have water stations on the course…
Beautiful Fall Day
Awesome day. Haven't played here in many years, but won't wait so long for the next time.
Disappointed
We had a morning tee time and had taken work off to golf a nice round of 18 and planned it for weeks. To my dismay the course was having work done to it and we had to play the front 9 twice. I wish they would have let us know ahead of time as I would’ve moved to a different location for my round. Nice day but a disappointing round!
Chevy Chase is a fun place to be and fun to play!
Course layout is narrow in some places, and very forgiving in others. Most greens are protected by elevation and multiple sand traps. Water hazards are numerous. The greens are currently pretty rough due to aeration maintenance, but sand has been used to backfill it, and we agreed they were in better shape than we thought! All the people are friendly and take care of everything so you can play the game! Carts are very clean and brand new. They even ordered up good weather today. It was beautiful!
