About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Have played this course hundreds of times
Ive been playing this course since the mid 90s, before the extensive remodeling. I live in Wheeling, so the rounds are cheaper for me. I would play this course much more if they had any kind of driving range. They have a putting green, but I need to warm up a bit before my round and this course has no such facility, so I go elsewhere as I have gotten older and needed more warm-up swings. it's a good course otherwise - a lot of out-of-bounds to keep you honest. Course is usually in good condition and the restaurant/bar is nice.

Another fun round
We enjoyed this course again. Great condition for November. Autumn leaves were not a major problem like I’ve seen elsewhere. Greens rolled well. Thank you for a real good time.
Great track
Played there the first weekend November course was an excellent shape the greens were in great shape the tee boxes were in great shape. Keep up the good work groundskeepers..
Average
Blah course. More befitting of a 3.5 overall experience. Not the best layout.
Always a fun round
CC is a nice sporty course that’s not too demanding but fun nonetheless. Plenty of length from the back tees at 6,600 yards. Always in good shape. If they improved the quality and the quantity (too much) of sand in the bunkers there wouldn’t be much negative to say about it.
Golf review
The course was very nice. We got out a little early and played in about 90 minutes on the front and then caught up to a group and it was a couple hours for the back. It was in good shape and our group really enjoyed our round as well as the 19th hole after.
