About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Course was in much better condition than the last time I had played it about 7 years ago. Pace of play was fantastic for early morning Sunday round, played in about 3 1/2 hours. I will make sure it’s not another 7 years again until I play the course.

golf is always good at Chevy chase
It’s a great course and usually in great shape. Stafff is great. Only downside really is the no driving range thing. When they have the room for it

Great course
Played out here for the 2nd time yesterday and really love the course. They also just got a brand new fleet of carts with the best GPS I've seen.
We teed off at 3:20 and finished at 8pm in near darkness. The foursome ahead of us were beyond slow, had no concept of ready golf and no one in sight ahead of them. I really wish there was a ranger because our group would have easily finished in 4 hours or less had this group kept pace.
Also would love if the scorecard had a mix of the tips and red tees. The 6600yds to 6038yds is a big gap between tee boxes and I think it could easily setup for a 6400yd course where the shorter par 4s and 5s play a bit longer. Overall really enjoy playing here, but pace of play in the Chicagoland area has been trending at 5 hours almost everywhere and the lack of rangers seems to be a contributing factor.

Overall very good
Greens were just the right speed and smooth. Bunkers we're a little spotty and some were not raked. That's my only complaint. Staff was top notch all around
