So So conditions
Course was ok but aeration was still there presenting poor putting conditions but it was November Started us on the back nine and when we arrived at hole 1 there were two foursomes ahead of us Can’t believe they would send anyone out ahead of us but we did get 18 in as the last group to leave for the day. Normally the course is in excellent condition

Much Better
Course was in much better shape than last year. Greens were fantastic . Course was showing a little wear n tear but after all it is September. Pace of play was great. I believe that was due to me teeing off at noon during football season. Played in under 3 hrs. Staff was very friendly. They even brought me a new cart because mine was dying. Beer cart woman was awesome too. Great Sunday afternoon
Pros: friendly, helpful staff; reasonable green fees (with the Hot Deals, at least).
Cons: conditions could be better (tee boxes are uneven, bunkers weren't prepared for Saturday play), layout demands precision or a lot of balls, course is not walkable.
Impressed
The last time I had played Aberdeen was 2 or 3 years ago. After that experience it seemed it was doubtful I would return as the course had fallen in hard times.
I had heard it was bought and the irrigation system issues were fixed so the hot deal got me out there today. I was very happy I made the trip to Valpo and now likely to return.
The issues I remember like bad turf conditions from tee to green had been fixed. The greens were a tad slow for my preference but they were pure and rolled true. The greens are in such great condition that if they were quicker it would be a very difficult test.
The only beef I have that golfnow coupon codes never seem to work. It would be unfair to Aberdeen to take that into account on the review scores.

greens rolled good as well as fairways. back 9 had a couple of quirky holes but first time playing may have been a factor.. pro shop people and starter extremely nice as nd helpful.
Decent Value Spot
Course layout was fun. The par 5 setups are pretty quirky in that you cant rip driver off any of the 4 because theyre all split fairways. Course was in pretty rough shape in some spots. Overall this is a pretty fun track that wont beat you up too much.
