Last Time
I booked two tee times on this course for March 4th, one at 7:30 am and one at 7:50am. I thought these were abnormally early times for the time of season, so I called ahead to make sure we would be able to get off at that time. The clubhouse attendant assured me that we would.
When we showed up, we weren't allowed to start until the frost melted. It was at that time he told us they normally don't open until 9:00am in March, and golf now never took down the early tee times. (this would have been nice to know when I called the day before)
The sun was out starting at 7:00am so everyone in our group figured we'd be held up 20 minutes or so before going out. WRONG. They didn't let us start our round until 9:20am. By that time, there were over 30 other people in various size groups behind us to play. Had our group of 8 (two foursomes), been allowed to go off on our scheduled tee time, we would have add almost 50 minutes head start.
As I watched the line on tee one pile up, I urged the clubhouse manager to let us start on a different hole (10), because this is was the first outing of the year for most of us. I warned we'd be slower. But nope, he wanted everyone to start out on the same hole, so the course manager flipped the nines and everyone went off on 10.
It wasn't an hour and a half later, and a ranger paid our groups a visit telling us to speed up. We were starting hole 7. I find it insulting and ridiculous that anyone would say anything to us about speed, when were playing at steady pace. Let's not forget the fact they caused this backup because they sold out of season tee times and refused to have the groups go off on different holes.
Last time. Because this is the last time I'll ever give my money to this course.
Great Course
Great course to play! Just watch the rolling hills and water on the back 9, they can kill your round. Love playing this course alone or with some friends!
Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again soon!
Greens very good
The greens were ver good for winter conditions. Fairways a little rough from freezing and thawing repeatedly. A fun afternoon in breezy 50s degree.
Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again soon!
enjoyable
The course was in good shape. Tee boxes were a little rough but, not bad. Greens were nice and rolled true.
Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again soon!
Relaxing Weekend Play.
Stay & Play, Course in good condition, friendly Staff & good breakfast. I myself did not play, I directed our group of 19 people who enjoyed playing Best Ball in morning & single in afternoon.
The Pro also arranged Tee Times @ sister Club Cherry Blossom, very nice Club as well. All Tee Times on time & play was always moving, except a short rain delay on Saturday. Rooms very clean & cool, I went out for dinner but others used the facility grills & patio for a relaxing evening.
Our group will return next year, we reserved the same weekend for 16 players. Seth Zipay Pro, was very understanding as I made a large # of changes & he was able to work with our group, we needed an extra room close to our weekend & he was able to help, and also arranged play @ Cherry Blossom for some players on Friday as they arrived in town.
Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again soon!
DON'T EVER PLAY HERE
Horrible Course: They allowed a group of 6, then a group of 5, then a foursome in front of our 3 foursomes. We complained on Hole #2 of a potential 6.5 hour round. Pro (Seth) says I'm by myself today and can't come out to do anything. Gave him two choices: lock the pro-shop and get out here or get $154.00 in cash x 12 players ready to be picked up by our group in 5 minutes. Tee Boxes= no grass and couldn't get a tee in them (hard), fairways are total weeds, no fertilizer or water forever. Ponds= green sesspools; bridge failing badly and someone will get dropped- cart & all into the pond soon when it fails= lawsuit waiting to happen. The only thing good here on this course was the breakfast. DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$
We're sorry to hear you had a bad experience. But please be aware, nobody would ever permit a 6some or even a 5some from ever playing, especially on a busy day. Groups tend to join up sometimes, especially when there is no ranger on the property.
Couse could use some water
I've played this course many times. It's best features are lots of elevation changes from tee box to green, and large water bodies to hit over. I keep coming back because it's a short drive from home and fun to play.
This was the worst overall condition I recall the course being in. Very hard fairways (club down because you will get a lot of roll out), and the greens were rough in places. They didn't even bother to put rakes in the sand traps. I'll be back, but it may be in the fall after a few good soakings.
Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again soon!
Good
Good Course for the money.

Great play!
Great value and course. Wasn't too crowded. I played by myself and never got held up by groups in front of me.
Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again soon!
Great Value
The course was in great shape, with the exception of the bunkers and few greens that had som bad spots. Over all it was a great day at the course. It has been several years sense I played this course, but the new owners are making it great again. We did not hit any of the bunkers, but they looked to need some attention. Otherwise the course was well groomed. I recommend trying a round!!

Course was in great condition...
Tees, fairways and greens were all in great condition....we had an enjoyable time.
Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again soon!
An enjoyable course to play
Nice open fairways, front nine was covered with dandelions. and grass was long, back nine was freshly mowed and in good shape.
Havin' fun with my Son
My son drove up from Frankfort and I drive down from Cincinnati.. We had a blast. Weather was cold with no rain. The course was not crowded. We enjoyed it so much we played an extra nine ! The course is challenging. The par 4 3rd is down hill over trees and great fun to play. We played here for the 1st time on 3/18 of this year. We will definitely be back !
Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again soon!
Room for improvement
I read other reviews about this course and decided on playing here anyway. For $29/player the course should be kept in better conditions than how they were. I've played at cheaper courses and their conditions were better than this place. The tee boxes are pretty much non existent. It's just rough patches on grass and there's more dirt in the tee boxes than anything. On majority of the holes you would not differentiate the fairway from the rough. Only good thing about the course is the friendly staff and the greens on majority of the holes. Pace of place was pretty slow but it doesn't really bother me.
There are some really nice designed holes, what would make the course standout from the rest is the upkeep of the fairway
I would still play here even though there is room for improvement. I love golfing so I would play just about anywhere.
Longview In Poor Condition
The course is in rough shape. Fairways and rough about the same and crabgrass has taken over. No sand in traps and greens have been airated and full of sand. Overall, course in poor shape.
Needs some work
Fairways were oddly dead & brown, tee boxes were in awful condition, pace of play was overly slow!
Dominic newer golfer
The course is wide open with a tough lake on the back nine
Good outing
Considering the rainy weather we've been having, Longview was in good shape. Greens were better than I expected and the fairways and rough had been mowed. Staff was friendly. Course was crowded, but the pace of play was good.
Thank you for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you again soon!
Golf review
outstanding round of golf for seniors .T boxes in excellent shape.Fairways excellent for cart path only.good day to play golf.
We apologize that you had a bad experience playing Longview last Saturday. and even though you booked a tee time that early in the morning, in the middle of winter, the pro shop was open and was ready for you. It was an error on our part that the time was still showing as available online. Mother nature and frost are out of our control. Every step you take on a frozen green can result in killing the grass, thus leaving brown footprints. Plus, our crew had to wait for them to thaw so they could get out and mow the greens ahead of the 150 rounds that were played that day. We wanted to ensure that you had good greens to play on and that the crew didn't interfere with your round. The pro shop was trying to think on the fly by letting everyone start on the back, as holes 10 thru 12 sit a little higher and will thaw a lot faster than holes 1-3 will. We sure hope you'll reconsider and play Longview again in the future. Thank you
