About
Ocean City Golf Club offers two championship courses: Newport Bay and Seaside. Opened in 1959, the Seaside Course is the club's original layout and since opening it has remained an Eastern shore favorite. It has a more traditional design than the other course, which underwent a renovation and rebuild. Seaside offers classic greens tightly lined with bunkers that are balanced with wide-open, player-friendly fairways. It is a challenging but playable test that is popular amongst locals. Five sets of tees make it even more approachable. The views of the marshes and bay, as well as the trees, give the course the feel of one in the Carolinas. In addition to the two courses, Ocean City Golf Club also offers a driving range and putting green before teeing off.

Disappointing experience
The staff at the course were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the cooler got flagged. No problem. However the beverage cart that they said would be around to provide beverages was a unicorn. When it did finally appear I tried waving her down and calling but she had ear buds in so she couldn’t hear me yelling for her. How is that possible or is allowed? I mean how is the cart person going to hear customers if she has ear buds in ??
I even called the clubhouse to have the cart person meet us on a call. They said they would send her but we got ghosted. You take away our cooler then there’s nothing on the course in terms of beverages?? Very uncool..
Also the course was in rough shape. Greens were fine but we’re a little hairy. And to top it off we were forced to play the seaside back nine twice. That was totally lame
Overpriced and below average
Paid over $100 to play the back nine of the seaside course twice. Not sure why it's called seaside, every hole is on top of each other and fore calls are common. I highly recommend skipping this club and playing the others in the area. I'd rather play willow springs than play here again even if it were the same price.
Bait and switch
We’ve played this course about 6 times over the last year. Never again. We usually play Newport, but this time we tried bayside. Upon arrival we were told by the starter we’d be playing the back 9 twice. No other warning. The course is ok, but it is quite buggy. Not much water, and zero view of a “sea”. You don’t charge normal prices, and then have people play a 9 hole course twice. There’s better courses with better views and better amenities all over.
OC proposal vacation
We played the course after a rain storm the previous day. It was cart path only. The course was in good condition. We enjoyed the round and the staff. Some of the scenery was nice.
Half of the course closed
They didn’t mention that only the back 9 was open so we had to play the back 9 twice. Otherwise, average everyday course. You won’t see any of the bay or sea at “Seaside”. I would suggest to consider their other course (Newport).
Nice course!
The rate I found made the course exceptionally enjoyable 😉 Anytime I can get on a higher quality course I'm on it. Stormy weather threatening the round worked in my favor by clearing out the course then becoming a no show. Play the Seaside if you can. Visually exceptional 👏
Poor course play management
After finishing the 9th hole, I noticed a large back up of golfers at the tenth tee box. There were a total of 8 golfers and 4 carts just waiting to tee off. I find this in acceptable especially given the cost to play at this course. They need to manage the pace of play better. It would seem that golfers would stop at the clubhouse and then just resume playing despite this majoring disrupting the fair of play. I will not be returning to this course. Not worth the money
Very slow
We left after 9 holes. 3 groups waiting on tee boxes on almost every hole.
Ok
The course is older and is mostly inland except a few holes that can see a peek of the bay. Driving range was artificial only. Sand traps need more sand, hit clay several times. I expected more from the course for the price compared to the number of courses in the area.
The pros were the friendly staff and golfers. Really good tee time management. Marshal did nice job pacing.
We enjoyed our vacation playing golf at this course for four days. Staff were friendly and the location was great.
Don’t play here
Had a 7:30ish tee time at Seaside. Was literally the first one at the course. There was a guy riding around in the parking lot with a huge air blower blowing debris, dirt, pine straw, pine cones, etc. I understand the club wanting to keep it tidy but the guy drove by my car blowing dirt and stones, etc all over it. Then when I had gotten out and was putting my shoes on and getting my clubs, he drove by 2 more times blowing all of the crap and dirt and stones on me and in my car! It was absolutely unacceptable. Went into the pro shop and the guy working there seemed really annoyed that I had bothered him. Very rude. Then I went out to the range to warm up and after hitting about 10 of my 40 balls, this guy comes up and rudely tells me I have to get off the range because he is spraying. I don’t mind making way for maintenance staff to do their work, but the guy was a total a-hole about it. So all three of these instances totally ruined my round and I hadn’t even started playing yet! I was really close to going in and asking for my money back but I really wanted to play golf. I played the round and the conditions were very average. Tee boxes and greens were just ok. Reminds me of a municipal course in Baltimore City.
So here’s my advice: SKIP THIS COURSE. You are going to pass Eagles Landing Golf Course on your way to this course. Just go play there where the conditions and staff are an A+++
Seriously. Go play Eagles Landing instead. It’s like $10 more, but soooo worth it. You’ll be glad you did.
