Nice course and even nicer staff and members
Played this course as an alternative to Lighthouse Sound, which was in poor shape last year for the money. Went off as a single but a member asked to join me on the first hole. Was happy to have him along; he was a great guy and knew the course so that was an added benefit. Staff was super-friendly and the course nicely blends someeasy holes with some that require good target golf. Course was in great shape and I will play there again when I vacation here next year. I hope to see Jim again and play another round with him. Never played a 19 hole course before, but I like the Par 73, 19 holes.....feels like free golf! Looking forward to the upcoming changes and how the course will feel once they are complete.
Darn Water Holes
Should not be a problem to keep the ball out of
the water but the Deer Run Beermuda Triangle just
                sucks it right in.
Had a very fun day
Played on a sat. Pm. Course in very good shape had a great time

Ocean City Secret
I've played here over the last four years, maybe 12 times a year. We had a late start this year and this was our first time back. What a surprise! Course was in the best shape we have seen! Fairways beautiful, greens tight, no bare spots, everything lush and green. Plus starting at 2 pm we had the place to ourselves! Know how some courses are boring out and back and the holes look alike? Not one hole is like another. All different, never boring! And the wildlife....fish, great Herrons, eagles, geese (yuc), ducks, some animal we couldn't identify swimming thru algae, green herons, turtles galore. This is not a drive bombing golf course...this course requires thinking and course management. I can't believe it wasn't packed this afternoon at 77 degrees. Thanks Deer Run!
needs help
let me start out by saying I have a physical disability which has never been an issue and I have played at some of the top courses in the Md. and the U.S., from Bulle Rock , Country Club of Md. ,PGA National Fla., to Falcon Ridge and Oasis in Nv. I arrived about an hour early for my tee time and checked in. I asked the starter if they used disability flags and he didn't know so he went to ask and came back with a flag and the admonishnent "go anywhere except the greens." When my foursome made our drives from the 11th tee we found part of the fairway with a low rope around most of it. Remembering the starter's admonishment that it only applied to the greens I proceeded to my ball. Almost immediately I was accosted by a man shouting at me to get back on the cartpath which I did. He then began a ten minute angry lecture about staying off his fairway because it would damage the drainage system . I could understand his being upset but not the abusive tone. He acknowledged I had the proper flag but did not ask why I had ignored the rope(left side paralysis) or accept my explaination of the starter's instructions. I understand if a course needs repair or has drainage issues but for this course that is not new. Better instructions from the starter would have made the tongue lashing unneccessary and would have prevented me from vowing never to play that course again even though I kind of like the layout and have tolerated the usual poor conditions before. In the past when areas are under repair or greens they have included alternate instructions from the starter. The rudeness and disrespect will not be tolerated.
Nice Time
Great value at 28.50. Course conditions where okay staff friendly. They have a tempera clubhouse and other then a hot dog and some Gatorade I did not try the food. Course layout has some strange feachers. On on dog leg you hit over the driving range and it of course is out of bounds. Not bad though had a nice day. And the is a 19th hole a part three.
Best Staff In Ocean City!!!!
We played yesterday in an 8-man outing. It started to rain on the back side, but since we were all on vacation we didn't care that we were getting soaked. The staff at Deer Run went out of their way to drive out to both of our foursomes and deliver us fresh towels to stay dry. They made two trips!!! I've been playing this great game for 30 years and have never come accross a friendlier staff. As poor as the conditions were, they made the day as comfortable for us as they could. We will be coming back to this course next year due to the staff. One of the better values in OC. Play from the tips... much more challenging than the white tees!!!!
good course, great price
course in good shape (rough was patchy but not the worst ive seen/played) greens played true with a few bumps and the staff is GREAT everyone is very friendly! i'll def be playing again
Great value
Fairways were excellent. Greens a little bumpy and sandy...but overall not to bad. Definetly would play again.
Greens need attention!!!
Different course...Short course a need for accuracy is a must. Good luck on the greens because they are not good at all.
greens were rough
It was a beautiful day, the price was right, and the playing time for two people at 3 hours was great. Keep the price reasonable and we'll be back.
Great value for the money--good challenging layout
This course is a great value for the money. Very challenging yet not to long. Some very interesting obstacles to overcome.
fairways & greens very good condition
I have played this course a number of times its ialways in good shape
Terrible
Horrible. The course should be condemned it's a shame it's gone to total garbage. Stay away not worth a single penny. Bring back Greenfields.
Great Bargain
We were able to get a great bargain through GolfNow.com and found the course to be enjoyable, challenging in parts and in decent condition considering the winter they had. I probably would not pay full price for this course, but would play again if able to get a bargain rate.
Not ideal course condition
It rained hard the previous two days so the course was very soggy. The greens, however, look great. This would be a very good course when the weather turns better.
The price was excellant
The course was soaked from two days of rain. We were given the option to ride 90 degree or walk, which we liked having. Chose to ride few people on course. Course still in winter mode, but good condition under those standards. Enjoyed the round and the price made it even better.
Interesting course
From the white tees this course plays about 5500 yards. For us old guys it's fun to play a course where you can hit a seven or six iron into the green rather than a hybrid or a fairway wood. A good mix of hazards and large greens make this a fun course to play. I'd definitely play there again.
NICE COURSE, HELPFUL STAFF, WILL PLAY AGAIN
GOOD COURSE, SOME CHALLAGEING HOLES.
A FRIENDLY STAFF MAKES IT ENJOYABLE.
