blind shots, narrow fairways, and slow play
very frustrating round as there were so many blind shots that found dense rough off a fairway that was cut so narrow even shots you'd think were on line found rough. we paced off one fairway width of 20 feet which is a bit annoying given the amount of space available. pace of play was an issue and a call to the club house did nothing as we never saw a marshal at all during the round. really wanted to enjoy this course, but wasnt pleased with the experience.
narrow fairways, blind shots, and pace of play
frustrating round as there were so many blind shots that resulted in searching for a ball hidden in rough. fairways were cut very tight with one we paced at 20 feet in width. pace of play was slow for majority of our 2 group's round after the 3-some ahead of our 1st time got to the box 8 minutes late. a call to the clubhouse did nothing as we never saw a marshal the entire round. really wanted to like this course, but wasnt a fan.
Great value
Outstanding course and conditions. Friendly staff and courteous golfers allowing faster players to play through.
A Bit Challenging
My wife and I decided to take a short trip from home to play anew course...We could not have been more pleased with our choice to play Connemara. The course was in great shape. The lush green fairways and rolling hills made for a very scenic trac. Some of the greens were small and oddly shaped which made things a bit interesting. We would play this course again .
Great course but....
I really enjoy this course! My issue was the pace of play. Most courses have this issue from time to time and it could be solved with a staff member riding around and observing or asking others how the pace is for them.
We had an older group ahead of us that really needed a lesson on how to be courteous to other golfers. They backed us up and several behind us to the point we would have 3 carts waiting to tee off at our hole. We don’t play fast or slow nor do we care to wait a little but this was terrible.
Ahead of them was an adult with young kids who were taking pics instead of playing but they didn’t hold the older group up because they were very very slow.
A simple solution is a staff member riding out and asking what is going on when they see carts piled up on one hole waiting for one group.
I will be back and the course is great but people can be inconsiderate or even clueless as to what they are doing to others. It was a good day but could have been so much better.
Thank you
Tough rough
First time playing here. Course was in great shape. Few things I didn’t care for, lots of blind tee shots and crazy long rough. We spent a good 30-45 min of our round looking for balls. You could be 7-8 ft from your ball and not see it.
Not much in th way of trees, water or sand so I guess you make up for it with rough and narrow fairways.
I’d play it again and just use different course strategy.
Great Value
This was a great value. Course was in great condition and wasn’t crowded at all. Staff was very friendly and helpful at check-in. I will definately come back to this course.
Very Good Facility
For the time of year the course is in very good shape. The greens still a little rough due to recent aeriation , but still nice.
didn't get all 18 in do I get a rain check? golf course wouldn't give me one because I used golf now! only played few holes!!!!
Connemara
Course is in good shape. Fairways really green and fulll
One of the nicest courses in the area, constant efforts to improve the course.
Great course for the money.
Course was in amazing shape especially for this time of year. The only negative of the round was it was during peak hours and somebody thought it would be a good idea to bring their kid and let him take twenty shots off of each tee box and completely killed the pace of play it took 40 minutes to play the first two holes due to waiting on them. We ended up skipping the 4th hole which is a par 5 entirely to pass them and another slow foursome. After we started play again on the fifth it was like we had the course to ourselves because the people ahead of them were two holes ahead even though they tees off right before them. They need more active marshals during peak hours or something. Great course though and easy on the wallet. I have played here a couple of times a year for the last three years and it is always a good time.
Work
You need to have your workers cut the grass and fairways early of a morning instead of doing it while ppl play they get in the way too much
Squeezing in a round before Winter
The place was basically empty. A few other players but we had the course to ourselves. My only wish about this course is that the rough was mowed tighter. Many times we spent several minutes to find a ball that was only 2 feet off the fairway but buried in the grass. We all hit shots like this and this wound help a golfer not spend so much time looking for the ball. The course was in great shape.
Good
I am an average player...this course though pretty open has tough greens. If you can always shoot straight (Yes right lol) and get it on the fairway, you have a good game. Also, some par 4 are long. The only complaint (or two) I have is that there was no water in ball washers (probably removed as the cold season is starting) and the blue markers are actually the whites on the map at the tee box.
All in all, it is a good course. I enjoyed it.
Plenty of scoring holes
Getting a few birdies on the front nine is very possible. Get through the Par 3’s unscathed and take advantage of the straight par 4’s and you can have a very good round.
The course is in good shape and the clubhouse is a great place to relax and take a break on the turn.
This is a good course to play. I will continue to play here.
Great Course in Central Kentucky
I play this course about 5 to 7 times a year.
The course is always in great shape and the staff is always friendly.
It has always been a pleasant experience playing here.
