Under maintenance/construction
This is a fine course, pretty wide open. Just be aware that they recently aerated, and hole #5 is currently closed. Greens are nearly impossible due to aeration and sand. White Tees are moved up making the course considerably shorter.
Excellent greens
Course layout is not the greatest, but still somewhat challenging on a few holes.
Connemara : A True Gem
I returned to Connemara last year for the first time in quite a few years and found huge improvements to the course. I credit this in part to it being now owner and managed by Nicholasville, Ky. and International business man Pearse Lyons. I know that Mr. Lyons doesn't associate himself with anything that isn't first class and that is what Connemara is these days in my opinion. The course is in excellent shape, fairways, tee boxes, greens could you some improvement, but overall if you haven't ever played or haven't played Connemara in a long time, you will be pleased.
Challenging Course
The Links style course which is a drastic change from everything else in Lexington is fun and exciting but can be hard because I lost a ton of balls just off the fairway.
Golf 101 Review
Good play for the money, course was under minor construction. fairways and greens in excellent shape. Tee boxes were a little rough. Not crowded at all, nice and quiet place. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Good!
It was very busy but not so make me frastrate. Price was good if you use GOLFNOW app.
Review
This is a good course to play in the lexington ky area. The staff is friendly has great practice area. The only knock I have on the course was pace of play, it was a little slow. I love the greens they are always so quick and enjoy the way you have to read the greens.
Liked new layout
I have played Connemara earlier in the year and didn't really enjoy the course. They have changed the layout of some of the holes #1 and #15, and that seemed to help reduce the number of blind shots. The fairways and sand traps are always in good shape there, but they did have a couple of greens that had been damaged by the weather conditions. I have to say that I enjoyed the round and the price was great. I will go back again soon.
Connemara new layout
I have played here for easily the last decade steadily, and they(new management/ownership) have done an amazing job upgrading this course. I really like the new layout, and love all the upgrades they have made throughout. The pace of play was really quick and you can't beat the Golfnow rates. They ran a twosome special, and we played in the afternoon for 25 apiece. Greens were in good shape and I love that they stretched out the holes to add distance. Shot an 83 and made a few birdies and played well from the tips. All in all, a good day of golf. This place is no longer the goat farm it once was.
nice course
First time playing the course. Friendly staff. The course overall was not extemely difficult. A couple of holes were blind shots; will be asier next time. Will definitely play again.
Connemara
Course was in good shape for the most part. The greens were in bad shape though. Overall a good looking, fun course. I'll be back.
great course
played in 2hrs 45mins fairways where great some tees under new construction greens where great
Lexington Gem
Love Connemara golf course! New changes to #1 and #15 make it more interesting than ever. Great facility, beautiful course, and well worth the cost to play.
Trouble free course
Nice , fun course to play. Tee boxes in bad repair, but overall a good course to play. I will play it again.
Disappointing course
For the last 3 years we usually play this course 2 times a year on weekends (group from out of town). In the past the pro shop staff guy was GREAT and always made us feel welcome that we chose this course and got us off to a great start but this year from the time we checked in was a different story. The guy (Lanny?) behind the counter seemed like he was lost trying to check in everyone and acted like he was doing us a favor letting us play there. The course was in a state of repair from the tee boxes to the greens. The back nine was again boring - wish they would have taken the money to move tee boxes to make the back and forth holes on the back nine more interesting. Probably be looking for a different course to play on future trips.
Great Customer Service.
Great weather, the course in good shape, good times and most impressive was the hospitality by the staff at Connemara. From the front desk to the grill all made the effort to make my golf experience an enjoyble one.
Connomara. Not so hot a deal
I was giving this course a second chance after being disappointed a year ago Greens and tees were generally bad. Pro shop guy and course Marshall were welcoming and friendly. Dining/bar staff were indifferent. (Like they were doing ME a favored selling me something. ). Glad I got this at a hot-deal price. Won't go back
much improved
really like what they have done at this course! enjoyed it
Much improved course
I have played in past and was average course. They have put a lot of work on the course with flowers, shrubs and new tee boxes. Carts are new and clean. The fairways are great and greens are good. Still, there is a group of holes on back nine a little boring because all seem about the same. Overall very pleased and now will be my number one course if they continue good deals on Golf Now.
